Dooming. Big dooming hours.

Wait why does this sound viable? Imagine a 36 hour chocolate cake built by an AI that actually used all 36 of those hours without rest or breaks?

Title of an academic paper reading "H.D., daughter of Helen, mythology as Actuality by Sheila Murnaghan"

I spent like 20 minutes trying to figure out what H.D. was short for and being low-key upset at Shelia Murnaghan before I searched for the author of one of the books mentioned in the text.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.D.

I'm not even mad, I'm impressed.

One of the most American things you can do is to tell tyrants to pound sand

That’s why this country exists in the first place

I know I should go out on days when I am not working and do things, but it just feels like a waste of money to sit around at a bar or whatever when I know I won't be having fun now that I've given up on looking for a romantic partner. It's very difficult to motivate myself to do yet another chore.

I think it would basically just be ideology at that point, following the paths of power and right thinking.

What gives something cultural value?

Given how seismically influential Vine became in the direction of our culture, I'd say short form content like "damn Daniel" clearly has some sort of cultural value.

The new grape monster is good but it tastes sufficiently like juice that my body codes it as "water adjacent liquid we immediately need more of" instead of "syrupy treat we are fine with only consuming 1 can of", which is a problem for my self control.

It's really annoying that I cannot try to even begin to develop a theory of what the political situation in this country actually is, because Internet sources vary from "there is actually hope, trump has low approval!" To "there's no hope everything is over", and every person at my job loves Trump.

Yeah, I feel this. It's like there's no point trying to persuade anyone of anything anymore.

As a computer shouldn't you find this inspiring and not embarrassing?

To be completely fair, if you're talking about Trump everything that should make him look bad has only ever gotten him elected. Teflon Don and all that. My whole family except for me still loves him. Seems like the old rules just don't apply.

I dunno your life but I feel like as a group they've all been getting weirder about this over the past couple years. Seemingly for no reason. My mom was freaking out about CERN summoning demons like a year ago.

So like, you are addressing a valid concern.

... But there's a lot of skepticism about healthcare as a whole, it's mostly been absorbed into anti-vax+ but I assure you the crunchy folks who went full MAGA are skeptical of all medicine as "big pharma" up to and including cardiologists.

I was WONDERING if you were going for Ba'al but he didn't feel old enough. Shouldn't have second guessed myself.

No but like what are you etymologically hinting at? I'm assuming the no vowels thing hints that you're talking about Akkadian since mostly Semitic languages do the abjad thing (I don't think Sumerian does, but I could be mistaken). I'm extremely curious why you chose B to replace y. 🧐

Okay but actually what are you getting at? Because this feels important but I have no idea where you're going with it, please explain.

Lol, I was mostly speaking about the Alert and Oriented tests in Emergency and Dementia care. One of the questions a doctor uses to determine if someone is competent to, say, leave a medical facility and refuse treatment is often "What day is it?"

For humans, Doctors are a little bit like fae that can trap you inside a building if you don't know what day of the week it is.

Honestly this kinda makes me want to vote for him. Too bad he sucks on sexism.

Harmony Korine's whole brand is being an edgy avant-garde raccoon. It would be disappointing if he didn't say this.

I loved spring breakers tbh.

Disagree.

Tho I do use AI to roleplay with because it's faster, less annoying to wrangle, and roughly on the same quality as randos online - so I'm basically one of the people you're criticizing here. I didn't have any meaningful relationships before this tho, it's replaced doomscrolling.

I was rather disappointed in hard monster and hard Arizona green tea. I might try this tho.

It's a very common expression here in the US southeast, especially among older folks!

Do you just get bored without input for a certain amount of time and generate your own input, or how does that work?
