Imagine being the person who cancels Sesame Street and just living your life after that

Last week this girly kept wanting to lay in my arms while I was working. She's hard to resist when she's so ridiculously cute.

🧵Here's a thread, of small, personal, daily actions that are relatively easy & freely accessible, that can also play a role in preparing & protecting you, preparing & protecting your loved ones, preparing & protecting your community.

Not all of them will be right or doable for you. That's ok 🫶

If you're an adult who missed it the first time, the HPV vaccine has been approved for people up to age 45, so if you didn't get it before or didn't get the full series, get it now.

HPV vaccine stops 90% of cervical cancer cases England began vaccinating teenage girls in 2008 and results show it is paying off.

It would also be good for people still on Twitter to post things like the UK showing an 90% drop in cervical cancer,
between the vaccine protecting individuals and it blocking the spread of the disease.

Last night I had one idea for surviving winter 24/25, which is to do the exact opposite of what I usually do during the PNW Dark and socialize. Like, do social stuff, go places, leave my house. Invite people over, even? Do I sound completely insane right now? I feel insane. I might try it though.

No, I think that's exactly right. Live as best as you can, check in on your loved ones and see them often. Wear your nice clothes and eat the fancy olives.

I loved how if you baked it or put small pieces in a waffle maker, the outside would be crunchy and the inside would be melty/gooey.

In one of the early scenes, there's a Fruitopia vending machine. I knew right then that the 90s nostalgia was going to be perfect.

If You Force Me to be Your Property
I will Become a Wood Chipper
Leslie J. Anderson

I've been many things in my life-
a scholar, a mother, a laborer, a love,

a singer of songs that are mostly puns,
a dancer with my dogs in the living room,

but if you force me to be an object
I will become very sharp-
A blender. A garbage disposal.

Arsenic served our ancestors well
but have you considered
that we are being threatened
with the room where the knives live?

Someone once told me
the best poems are threats.
Well,
so am I.

Yes. This.

4 panel comic:

P1: Begins with a caption box. "There's a scene in Twin Peaks - The Return where David Lynch --as Gordon Cole-- utters the words:

Beneath, is a caricatured drawing of Gordon Cole saying "FIX THEIR HEARTS, OR DIE"

P2: Another caption. "Those words have been going through my head on repeat today"

Beneath, a silhouette of my head forms in negative space formed in a pink-red background. Within the head are multiples of the phrase spoken by Cole.

P3: A massive "FIX THEIR HEARTS OR DIE" dominates the panel, formed, again, in the negative space.

P4: Sandwiched between two caption boxes --one top, one bottom-- is the image of a man yelling with unbridled rage.

The top caption reads "so many people need to hear those words with their whole person--" The bottom finishes with "--however, maybe those people are already lost to us"

fix their hearts or die

This is corny as hell but it does make you feel better to do something nice whether that is supporting a good newspaper or raking someone’s leaves or sending a friend an actual card in the mail. I’m getting Mister Rogers pilled in this fucker.

Do you ever try to write out how you're feeling so you can talk about why the thing somebody did hurt you, but before you can even finish writing it out, you realize how silly it is, but you're still hurt, so you're basically at an impasse with yourself?

Do you ever get into a shame spiral, dissect everything you've ever done, wonder if you're just a terrible person, and question why you're even allowed to make decisions, or is that just me?

Color photo of a white lily blossom, overlaid with a black skull and cross bones and text that reads “no lilies for kitties”.

Don’t forget when picking out Valentine flowers: every part of the lily plant is DEADLY to cats. Even a few grains of pollen can be fatal. Do not mess around thinking you’ll put them in a “safe” spot - keep them out of your house. 🌸 www.fda.gov/animal-veter....

The Dennis Quaid gospel music experience

At a certain point peoples taste in music just goes bonkers. I’m visiting my mom and she has a gospel CD by Dennis Quaid. All her music feels like it shouldn’t exist, like it’s from a different dimension

How am I supposed to explain health insurance to my children. How do I look them in the eye and tell them about depravity and perversion such as "deductibles"
