Pushing live production code cooked up by some young coders over a week of sleepness nights in place of a legacy system that is fundamental to the operation of the US government is against every programming best practice.
If you wanted no leaks you should have gone into Settings -> Security -> Configure privacy & security -> Privacy options -> Other -> Configure -> Media interface and clicked “Disallow.”
The Leak setting is on by default but we understand your privacy is important so we’ve made it easy to opt out
Nice list, includes several I've read just thus year 😀
Hello @robander.bsky.social! Thanks for posting about the next DITA OT day! If any other DITA XML folks are on the platform, please say hi!
“Walk when the Moon is full,” advised Frances Hamerstrom, and so I did—view of the Colorado downstream of downtown Austin, 5 a.m. this morning (no flashlight needed)
I was never that prolific at tweeting, but still fun to see so many of those old DITA-OT Day posts turned into skeets here thanks to @en.blueark.app .
Finally had the camera ready for the backyard friend. The stare down lasted ages and I'm not sure who won.
Recently followed a starter pack of photographers, and I'm seeing so many birds now that I should probably share a recent one of my own. One of three young ouwls that hatched this year in a single nest, still making appearances around the neighborhood.
Also, as should be traditional for early posts, my cat.
Getting excited about the next DITA-OT day - Copenhagen in February! Not sure how many DITA XML folks are on this platform yet, but if this grabs your interest, we're looking for proposals: www.oxygenxml.com/events/2025/...
Traveled all the way to #ditaotday for my first meeting with @kirkilj, despite us both living in Austin. Listening to him talk now about large-scale doc builds...
On my way to #ditaotday, the first one since 2019. That's usually my busiest day of tweeting every year, but that depends on this app still working in a few days 🤷♂️
annoying that my point was left unproven though
me: [shows a picture of a mouse in a top hat, to prove a point]
6yo: Dad, you know the show said not everything on the internet is real
Whenever I feel guilty about all the covid-era TV, at least I’ll know she got something useful from it
Fun fact: when clouds near #portaransas are running out of water, they send down a straw to pull up extra from #lagunamadre

@thehillkiller Worth the pre-order wait time... https://hillkiller.com/products/icelandic-sweater
Finally back out on my bike for a couple long rides thanks to my new Icelandic sweater from @thehillkiller -- perfect for riding in the Texas summer!
Imagining my thoughts if I heard 10 years ago, "in 2021 you'll fill the kids' tub with snow for flushing"
1: Kids?
...
13,179,398: guess I'm moving back home to Texas
...
2^458: Guess I'd better hang on to that roof rake after all
There is *so much doom* to scroll through.
But snow in #ATX has been the best distraction so far.
5yo, running into office: "Daddy I have a question!"
Me, after a pause: "I'm in a meeting"
5yo, after a pause: "Did you remember to mute before telling me?"
Why ... why would we travel for Thanksgiving
If we stay home, we stay safe, and have the couch to ourself
ok, well, cats done
ok now back to doom scrolling
Child 2: mommy can I have some of my halloween candy?
Child 1: shhh mommy's asleep
Child 2: ... I think that means yes
Voted today in south Austin #VoteEarly #ATX
One hour and 50 minutes in line before I got inside, and only witnessed one arrest!
I know she's upset, but it's hard not to laugh
when you're trying to pull your daughter's hair back
and she starts yelling:
STOP BROOMING MY HAIR
Monday fun: turns out, it's really easy to switch response forms on the chromebook into right-to-left text entry!
Next surprise: a widespread 28 hour internet outage (starting at 9:30am Friday) shut down school and work for much of our area. Fun!
Upside: with no streaming, we rediscovered our Miyazaki DVDs. I think Totoro ran 5 times by weekend's end.
I knew zoom kindergarten would be hard.
What I did not anticipate: "I know, I'm sorry. You did everything right, but the app failed to upload your lesson. We have to do it all over again. Again."

This is your fault @team_owl and @s_j_manning
