A lot of games about revolution will also have a fighting element, but it's not always front and centre. Check out the COIN system by GMT games, it's about counter insurgency with a strong focus on hearts and minds.

I would recommend finding some time to play the game if you can; I'm only a few turns in but it flows well and I'm enjoying it.
My Napoleonic gaming 'moment' is in full swing. Today'game: Reves de Gloire, a solitaire game recently published in Strategy & Tactics. Rules need interpretation but otherwise it's pretty good on the emergent narrative front, particularly if you know a bit about the period.

In early 2023 @fredserval.bsky.social made a game we could give away at PunchedCON. I enjoyed the game, and @domhnallh.bsky.social art so much, I convinced @phalanxgames.bsky.social to publish it. And here it is. Excellent production by PHALANX as always. Can't wait to play it again!

It tries to account for Russian experience by giving Russia quite a significant advantage in drones and EW. Maybe it's not enough🤷♂️, but it's easier for players to tweak/house rule if they are concerned about that.

By working off the basis that Ukraine couldn't conduct combined arms attacks, it demonstrated it would fail. As with all models wargames are only as good as their assumptions. Maybe NATO planners in 2023 had the wrong ones.

Not sure Frank is following but it would be interesting to know why he doesn't also propose reducing the number of French Preventive debate interjects to one, to address the issue highlighted in his conclusion?
I like this proposal but I definitely feel France will be too strong without this tweak.
