Chun li loving her buns

As you know I've been getting caught up with subjects that get me into the 3000-word area and take me a week+ to write. Today I thought I would hit some low-hanging fruit and talk about how disappointing the new Fist of the North Star CG anime trailer was.

To be honest I had similar issues with the anniversary movies from the mid-2000s, the art style wasn't unattractive but it had a real stiff feel to it and it felt like the detailed rendering was done at the cost of organic and dynamic motion. This kinda feels like the next step from that...

it looks ridiculous! I don't necessarily mind the art direction or the use of 3D, but the way the characters move - and especially the way their faces don't - makes it look basically like a PS1 game with some "HD texture mod" installed. Just real weird and uncanny...
