From what i can gather:
Posting works like twitter, but algorithmic feeds have as much of an impact as on tumblr
Additionally you can add custom feeds, like reddit communities but more functionally advanced

If you miss tumblr asks you can set up a tellonym
(maybe there are better alternatives but i only know this)
