Happy International Women’s Day. Have a listen to @standardissueuk.bsky.social
Update: So I had crisps to tide me over then a big dinner (tea). Currently got my eye on some tea cakes for supper.
So many smart people on here. Normally 8/9 so could have a late lunch now.
Oooh good idea
I don’t drink. Pop time?
Oh is Norfolk like the North then?
If I haven’t had lunch yet, should I just wait and have dinner?
(For Northerners: if I haven’t had my dinner yet, should I just wait and have tea?)
So good. Both of them. X
20 years ago I saw the exceptional Maria Bamford on my day off at the Edinburgh Fringe and loved her. Yesterday, I was lucky enough to see her again at the Soho Theatre in Walthamstow and was again blown away.
Add to that my brilliant friend Felicity Ward was supporting. Sheesh. Lucky me.
Reminder that I have a new stand up special out to stream and download (and even buy on DVD). It’s called Late Bloomer and it’s available via my website. sarahmillican.co.uk
Definitely a pancake. TSM
So it wasn’t Pancake Day yesterday then? Well, it was in our house.
When you say ‘her’, you mean ‘you’? As in you are directing the insult at me, yes?
Reminder that I have 7 Stand up specials available. They’re all either on my YouTube channel or on my website. Just in case you need a laugh. How many have you seen?
2 weeks ago, I was lucky enough to go to Antelope Island in Utah. The scenery is breathtaking. The wildlife is simply stunning. While we were there we saw bison, a jackrabbit, mule deer, possibly a coyote and this, only a bloody bald eagle. Second photo is my face when I realised it was a bald eagle.
Just had a wonderful trip to Utah with my friend Kate to watch excellent films at Sundance and look at glorious birds. Never had so many compliments as I did on my Lesley Evers strawberry sweater. Always good to be home but what a trip.
Thank you for making us aware of this. It has been passed on to the team. TSM
I love the chickens the best
Brilliant day with Standard Issue podcast gang yesterday, L-R Hannah Dunleavy, Jennifer Offord and Mickey Noonan. Fabulous meal and delightful show, my Neighbour Totoro. Ace belated Christmas do. Give the podcast a listen. It’s brilliant.
I love David Shrigley & this print, an end of tour present from my friend Kate, sums up my current mood perfectly.
After 4.5 years on tour, waking up in my own bed, cooking, bird feeders and seeing my boys every day is a welcome shift in focus and this blue elephant is glad of a sit down.
Reminder that my brand new Stand up special Late Bloomer is available to stream, download and on DVD right now. Via my website. It’s full of extras including the song written for the show and about the show by Andy Robinson that played as you left the theatre.
Oh yes and I wilt spinach now.
3rd tea and 1st water. Classic.
Here, have a terrible photo of a wonderful long tailed tit I met in our garden yesterday.
Very happy to be an answer on last night’s House Of Games. Thank you Humphrey Ker for getting it right!
I think this bird works in IKEA.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
The oldest date was 23. Not bad considering I once found a tin of marrow fat peas from the 90s with a raffle ticket on it.
I highly recommend doing a herb and spice clear out at the start of the year as it means when you’re looking for the tiny best before date, you only need to see if it’s 25 or less. Here are yesterday’s casualties.
Reminder that my new Special Late Bloomer available internationally to download & stream RIGHT NOW. It’s also available on DVD should you like tangible stuff.
Did you see the show live & want to relive it? Did you miss it live & want to watch it? Do you just need a good laugh?
