Aurora seen from Fred Olsen’s Balmoral as we sailed towards Narvik on 24th February 2026.
The Aurora on my recent cruise to Norway was truly magical.
I took these photos with my iPhone 15 Pro.

Hi Mike, it was great to meet you too. That’s a super video you got
Yes that’s correct
That’s stunning 😍
The Aurora over Norway last week was absolutely breathtaking! I was onboard Fred Olsen’s Balmoral cruise ship working as one of the onboard astronomers.
I took this video with my iPhone 15 Pro.

Today’s Sun, some nice sunspots showing.
I had my Seestar S50 and my Seestar S30 out this morning to take a look at the Sun.

Happy Pancake Day!
I love pancakes and I’m pretty pleased with how mine have turned out, they were delicious 😋
Happy Valentine’s Day to my favourite little scopes! ❤️
The Sun has come out today for you!
For the image taken with the S50 I used the Baader film filter from First Light Optics
For the image taken with the S30 I used the kit filter that comes with the scope.

30 minutes imaging time
Sunday 25th January 2026
The Crab Nebula is the remnant of a supernova. The first recorded observation of the supernova that produced the Crab Nebula comes from Chinese astronomy.
Sorry I meant didn’t see it! That was a typo!
Here’s hoping for tonight, need a cloud busting machine here!
Did see it last night, and tonight the weather isn’t looking great sadly
Ooh that’s so pretty, I’ll be having a look when I get home!
Currently -2 in Shifnal
I was greeted by a beautiful misty sunrise this morning.
Just been outside to top up the bird feeder and make sure the water bowl is defrosted for them, the snow outside my house is frozen solid like an ice rink!

Our Moon looked beautiful last night.
This image was created from a 2 minute video taken with my Seestar S50, the video was stacked in the Seestar App.
Sunday 4th January 2026
Beautiful view of the Moon and Jupiter setting this morning followed by a colourful sky as the Sun rose.
It’s a beautiful day here in Shifnal, blue skies and a crisp frost.

Saturday 3rd January 2026
I bet your scope was begging to come indoors, it’s a bit chilly today 🥶
Have you had any snow? Only a very light dusting here with me
It’s a chilly start to the day, currently - 2 here in Shifnal. This is the view from my bedroom window, the almost Full Moon is setting with Jupiter to the left.
Beautiful birdsong makes this view even more special.
Saturday 3rd January 2026
That’s a lovely image
I might try even longer the next time, perhaps 3 or 4 minutes
Thank you, to be honest I’m still trying to work it out, but I do think 2 minutes brings out more detail that 1 minute, the difference is subtle but it’s there.

Our beautiful Moon
Tomorrow (3rd January) will be the first Full Moon of 2026 and it will be a Supermoon. A Supermoon occurs when a Full Moon is at its closest point to Earth in its orbit.
This image is a stack of a two minute video taken with my Seestar S50.

New Year’s Day 2026
Waxing Gibbous Moon - 95% illuminated
The Moon was shining brightly as it nears full phase, it was rather chilly outside so I popped my Seestar out and headed back into the house to keep warm!
Two images of the Sun today taken with my Seestar S50.
The image on the left is a single image, the image on the right was created by stacking a 90 second video taken by the Seestar and stacked in the Seestar App.

Thank you. I like the stacking option too. That’s a great image you got.
