When Maisie and The Monarch first met

I also see them as kind of separate, as Dr. Mrs. The Monarch is not romantically interested in her and they don’t particularly have much in common. They are acquaintances though, and respect each others time and occasionally do things together and with the Monarch

I’d like to think she’s okay with it since Maisie now provides something she can no longer give him, which is arching Venture alongside him. She also has flings with other villains and once she sees how passionate they both are about villainy she gains respect for Maisie and the relationship

The Monarch still loves his wife and has no intention of changing that (I hc that they are both polyamorous) Maisie sort of completes him in a way, since she fulfils his unhinged villain side, and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch is there for comfort and to keep him grounded. C:

Have a decent amount in common, and bond over useless arts degrees and obsessions over villainy and specific small animals. Eventually, the Monarch asks her if she would be interested in becoming his number 2, since his wife had to give up her spot for her work.
