✨ In my view, the report provides valuable insights for journalists to better understand the perpetrator’s background and motives. The results of the cluster analysis are particularly intriguing, revealing clearly defined user groups and interaction patterns that warrant detailed investigation.
📊 Using the network analysis tool NodeXL Pro from the Social Media Research Foundation, I conducted a comprehensive social network and content analysis. The findings were visualized in an interactive NodeXL Pro INSIGHTS report in Microsoft Power BI.
Immediately after the attack on the Magdeburg Christmas market on December 20th, 2024, I collected all available tweets on X (formerly Twitter) related to the highly active account of the suspected perpetrator. The dataset includes more than 200,000 network connections, going back to 2016.
