After a devastating landfall in Jamaica, Major Hurricane #Melissa has emerged north of the island. In a few hours it will strike again, this time in southern Cuba.

It looks to me like Melissa is taking a few steps back so it can get a running start at Jamaica.

And the wind penetrated into the walls of our apartment building, popping the drywall open from the inside out.

As of October 20, water in excess of 30°C extended 60 meters below Tropical Storm Melissa.

A slow-moving storm will upwell water (bring deeper water up to the surface) because its winds are actively pushing surface water away, but these Argo float observations show that deeper water is also warm!
