50 years into the 24,000 years needed. Not optimal.
Nobody with my level of musical skills should have a mental "to buy" list that passes the $2000 mark. π
Feeling tired and happy after a glorious weekend at the wonderful Blue Mountains Music Festival - 29 years old and still a treat, even in a rare sunny year. See you for your milestone in 2027! πΆ
Excellent! I've purchased tickets now for myself and my mother and we'll see what happens (busy times with work and a looming trip overseas). π
This was an incredible read: beautiful and horrifying, with well developed characters and a perfect portrayal of white Australia's "I'm not racist... but". Also it was such a pleasure to read something set in Western Sydney and now I want more.
Thank you! If I can squeeze it in this year, I'm not sure yet which weekend it'll be. Are you open on both?
TIL: Captain Picard Day is the same day as Bloomsday. π§
Sorry about the rat though! π¬
You mean if I do the garden trail I might visit YOUR garden?! π±π±π±
I'm reading about the end of one massive music festival as I head to my much smaller favourite one. If this is the end of Byron, I feel really lucky to have attended four times and to hold some fantastic memories.

When introducing yourself to voters, itβs good to make sure you donβt get off to a creepy start
Just put in my evisa application for Vietnam. The e stands for "Eeeeee!" π₯³
A man stormed an Iftar event screaming slurs and had to be restrained by people and got a "take a walk mate" from the cops?!?! www.abc.net.au/news/2026-03...
Those 28 seconds deserve a post all of their own. Australian politics? Itβsβ¦ not easy youtu.be/mSjGsZgO8KE?...
I have been to the south in January and it was still a lot for me. This time, we're starting at Da Nang and ending up in Hanoi. At least it should be slightly cooler.
I just remembered a very specific line, and it was Sp*cey imitating Cl*nton during a long-ago talkshow interview. May as well put that file in the recycling bin, brain.
I can't wait for this relentless humidity to pass - just in time for my trip to [checks notes] Vietnam. π¬
I'm going to let myself be happy about this news this morning.
So relieved that the Iranian players can stay in Australia - occasionally we get it right - but thinking of how much more we could be doing and saying about other people in danger around the world.
With the several teeny bananas in the box, I made my first banana bread in ages. Then I asked myself how I could add some more sugar and fat to it, and served this slice with ice cream.
Yeah. Nice. Used up some more of the broccoli, two zucchini, half a jar of olives, and some passata I had.
The US and Canada go to Daylight Savings Time tomorrow morning.
Replies disabled so nobody can ask about the tropps.
I'm making soffritto to use the carrots from my fruit and veg box; I had no celery, so have thrown in the stalks from the parsley and broccoli. We shall see...!
My GOD I hate the sound of liquids being mixed on cooking shows. I would tune in to watch episodes with that specific noise removed.

Watching this was an interesting experience. It's not hugely camp, or loudly schlocky - it's just Very Not Good. I didn't like the screenplay, direction, acting, allegedly 80s fashion or the soundtrack. But apart from that...
