Morning all, please consider filling this in. I want my kids safe online but I'm against age verification generally and especially for VPNs. better to enforce against the companies creating an environment of harm, radicalisation and enshittification I would think, yes?

Same. I was almost tempted to ink ribbon it up but kinda glad I didnt in the end.

Also apparently it runs on UE4, which was surprising. The lighting feels very close to Lumen, I totally assumed it was a UE5 game.

Also this may not be a fair comparison but I played RE9 a few hours earlier on Path Tracing at 2k 144 HZ and Marathon made my PC hotter, literally crashed when I alt tabbed and uses kernel level anti cheat which I reluctantly accepted but I do not likey.

Im sure I have more thoughts on it but it boils down to, the genre isn't for me. Would have enjoyed a single player game set in this world, as were the older games. I'll be curious to see if this game lands but if they are trying to Arc Raiders the game, it's far too sweaty to capture that audience.

The strong music and atmosphere seen in trailers felt missing in the gameplay. The level design was confusing at times and it wasn't always clear what I could loot and what was worth looting. Having to micro manage an inventory every 5 seconds took me out of the immersive environment.

If you were to ask me what the story was I could not tell you, the side product of a MP story game is that you are not going to pay attention in a VC of gamers. The UI was confusing as hell but I eventually figured it out, cant imagine modern gamers would have the patience to engage with it.

I knew this going in but the genre isn't for me. The interior env art is good, the rest didn't jive with me. The gun designs were hard to parse at a glance forcing me to rely on UI, the matches had huge pockets of nothing, the NPC enemies were relentless and didn't give us time to breathe.

Well- myself and a few of my peers were laid off this week.

Riot’s severance is generous, and I’ve got the opportunity to apply internally to a few roles, which I’m taking advantage of- and I’ve gotten some kind leads on external roles as well. I’ve got a little time to conduct a search.
