Canary Wharf snapshots Some pictures I took some years ago in Canary Wharf, London. I think there was a winter lights show on, if I recall correctly. The most surprising view was a couple of swans wandering around the water ways that surround the place. I think there is also winter swimming event, something I would not ever think about participating in. This place feels soulless to me, with all those metal and glass buildings. But I think it makes for a cool place for photography, more so if your are into architectural sort of pictures.

Isle of Wight snapshots Happy new year and happy birthday to me! From up north, to some pictures I took in the south. I liked the Isle of Wight. It feels somewhat isolated from the mainland (is there mainland in UK?). The ferry trip is not a long one, but I imagine folks living there must feel a bit apart, when wanting to go somewhere else.

Night in London A couple of pictures a I took some years ago in London. Notice that some construction cranes are still there, in buildings that now are complete. The second picture will be at an exhibition soon. Somehow, I miss London.

Sheffield snapshots As I mentioned some time ago, something is dragging me towards the north. My daughter is starting university in Leeds, and in the past year or so I've been exploring cities up north. One I really like is Sheffield. I've spent some days there and the first thing I noticed is how hilly the city is. Using a bike, like I do here in Cambridge, is impossible, unless I get an electric one for myself.

About photobooks As I mentioned, I've started a small collection of photobooks. Every now and them, since a few years ago, whenever I have some extra money saved I go to a local bookshop, or the shop at the Photographer's gallery in London and get one. Or maybe I order it online. I like going photography exhibitions (less now that I don't live in London), that is another place where I've got some books.

After so long… ...I'm still here, maintain this blog. I recently had one of these moments of doubt, when the renewal bill for my web hosting came up. Should I renew, or should I just make a backup and take this offline? I have lots of pictures here. And the worrying thing is I have lots others that maybe deserve a better place here than instagram.

Brompton Cemetery A gallery of pictures taken at Brompton cemetery, in London. I visited this Victorian cemetery a few weeks ago. It was a cold, cloudy with drizzle day. Very appropriate for the mood of the place. I enjoyed it. A quite and peaceful place. Black and white processing seemed appropriate here.

Glasgow snapshots As a part of the big Scotland road trip I did with my daughter a few years ago, we stopped in Glasgow for a day. We were tired of the trip already and maybe we didn't end up enjoying this city as much. To me it felt very different to Edinburgh. More urban, less monumental, more rough around the edges in some way.

Venice, the city of canals (2). I thought I should share more pictures from my trip to Venice, some months ago. I recently listened to this podcast from the BBC and I learnt a lot more about the history of such amazing place.

“The Crooked Tree” by Omar Parada There is a small forest near my current place where I like to walk during work breaks. It’s a small nature reserve along the river Cam in Cambridge, England, south of the city center. Some months ago…

I had this picture of a tree featured in Frames Magazine! 😁 #photography

Venice, the city of canals. A few months ago, just out of the blue, I decided to go to Venice with my daughter. Not sure if we wanted to celebrate something, perhaps my 50 (belated) anniversary. I have never been too interested…

I enjoy making #pictures of places. Missing this trip to #Venice. Bringing memories is what #photography is best for. www.longdelayspossible.com/2024/07/23/v...
