@liamhbishophealth.bsky.social kicks off his talk at #SCT2025 by thanking the Society for continuing to create space for raising EDI issues in clinical trials through recognition across sessions and committees. And gives a great talk on building trust through community focussed workshops and videos.

Had a great session with the Engaged Research Exchange last week

We’re lucky to have such a brilliant Public Engagement Team at University of Leeds who we can tap into.

Great opportunity to meet other engagement methodologists

πŸ›œI had lovely time at CRUK networking day yesterday in London

It’s always a pleasure to put names to faces, and hear about great work from different practitioners!

πŸ“ˆEDI a growing movement - a space to share challenges and insights are always important!

Naga was speaking at the annual Alice Bacon lecture at the University of Leeds (set up and introduced by Rachel Reeves named after Baroness Bacon, Leeds' first female MP).

Later in the year, she'll be publishing her book: It’s Probably Nothing: Critical Conversations on the Women’s Health Crisis

Naga Munchetty spoke about gendered healthcare and challenges in getting treatment and diagnosis of
adenomyosis at UoL on Wednesday:

"When I attended the G.P. and was asked about my pain level. I'd say 6/10. I was passing out normalising my pain."

Fair to say I will buying Naga's book!

Enjoyed giving a talk on sex and gender inclusivity for the NIHR Research Support Service

So interesting to hear people’s comments and questions in this space - a way for me to learn too!

To some it might seem a strange frightening world we’re living in at the moment - sending support and best wishes to friends and colleagues and all effected by latest events

First Friday of the New Year

Trying to find ways to think of things from different angles and perspectives?

Me too, although quite literally in this chilly walk on Crosby beach I took over the Christmas break.

We all have such limited time, and there is so much work to do.

But these conversations are small steps that count.

So don’t be afraid to say hi in 2025 πŸ™‚

Have a good one!

I feel like I’ve met so many people this year. And if you’ve given up a small bit of time to tell me about your work or share your ideas then thank you

I'm sure many of us are welcoming the recent funding changes by the NIHR around research inclusion.

I thought I'd share some of the work we've doing relation to inclusive gender and sex data at LICTR, (which allows me to give a shoutout to the brilliant inclusive data subgroup we have at LICTR)

Follow both if it interests. I will cross-post shared interests and themes.

Either way, I look forward to engaging
