The reason due process is not important to the current regime is that they do not share these values with the rest of us.

Due process is important to a society that wants:
1. To make sure they don’t punish innocent people.
2. A full account of the crimes that guilty individuals have committed to ensure that justice is served through administering appropriately proportional consequences.

Granting an individual due process has nothing to do with what they have supposedly done or what they deserve. It’s not about the rights of the accused, it’s about the values of the society that’s holding them to account.

The North Carolina supreme court just stole an election by RETROACTIVELY imposing voter ID requirements on an election in which the conservative candidate lost. They are throwing out ~65,000 votes because voters did not provide photo ID, which was not a requirement until AFTER the election.
