It has happened... I witnessed one of my first papers on #lifestyle #change being used in a talk on "**Historical experiences** (successes and failures) in representing human behavior with integrated assessment models" 👀 I have entered to age of ancient work.

Group picture of all the workshop participants at PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency Sign used to guide participants to the seminar room stating "EU 1.5 degrees lifestyles national multi-stakeholder workshop" Flipboard with many colorful post-its placed everywhere showing thinking progress of one of the break-out sessions

Based on take-aways from a 1 day workshop @leefomgeving.bsky.social

TL/DR:
💻Impact modelling used a lot for stylized analysis
💭Adopting modelling best-practices helps to mature the field,
🤝Social sci can support dev of stylized facts or narratives
🤔But end uses depend on more than credibility.

🚨 In a new perspective experts in modelling and behavioural psychology reflect on the status of our fields on advising on #lifestyle #change for policy.

Great initiative by Laura Scherer @unileiden.bsky.social and the EU 1.5° Lifestyles project!

Screenshot of the article showing the title "The Power of bridging decision scales: model coupling for advanced climate policy analysis" and the 18 authors listed below.

🚨🙌 Out today, a new @pnas.org perspective on analysing various decisions scales using #ABM, #IAM, #CGE models, led by the great @tatianafilatova.bsky.social

TLDR: We stand stronger together in assessing vertical and horizontal decision making scales and impacts!

In a context where scientists noted an absence of #TransdisciplinaryCE ( #circularity) and #TransdisciplinaryIT ( #Industrial #Transformation) work that links systemic knowledge to applied knowledge, I told everyone to hold my beer…

See the first output from that feat!!

Circle diagram showing clusters of studied strategies with models and their share in the total

What a coincidence, just as I am asked to indicate which CE policy questions models can answer, google scholar alerts me of a new article by @dominikwiedenhofer.bsky.social et al. listing 517 (!) intervention strategies that have been studied with models.

Dus 🏗️ techontwikkeling, vraag, groene stroom & H2 etc.👍🏼

#STItrap
The science-policy interface problem is in the plenary discussion!

Fun to learn how they call sectoral policy domain workers 'challenge owners'. They want us to join them. Why not reach out the other way?

And then they clicked the slide away and not explicitly answer this 😩

Just learned about the #STIgap in previous session. I think this session is giving me the most explicit real time example of this failure. I'm screaming 😭 #euspri2025

At a panel discussion of a winning MOIP project. Ingeborg Meijer of 🇳🇱 MinSTI underlined need to better streamline the science-policy interface

Agreed. Because I don't understand why this ministry is judging on a circular economy demonstrator which was more MinEnv or MinMFA🥲
