lol classic 😂 brings back memories of thinking my gall bladder attacks were just really bad heartburn 🤦♀️
Emergency Valium. Box breathing and other hypnotherapy/meditation/self soothing stuff (like DBT thangs)
But the best cure was going to dance class tonight and getting two solid hours of bachata with friends who I’ve missed while away (and the physical exercise adds to the benefits as well)
Lol it was less fun and less awful than it sounds. The real bummer with sleep deprivation for me is just the way it makes me SO goddamn emotional and overly sensitive. It’s boring and draining 🤨

😲 Japan is too cool for school ;)
Airports are a place of magical time suspension…
Sooooo what if I just stayed here a little longer…?
I’m with you, quite honestly. One of the things I adore about her is her entire lack of willingness to apologise for anything that she felt was *her*. I didn’t realise til today that she was three years younger than me when she died. I feel pretty emotional about that 💔
I found this beauty on my way back to the hotel after 11pm, my last night in Bangkok. I felt as safe moving around at night as I do in Sydney: safe enough, enough of the time, and not taking any late-night-deserted-streets risks. Of course when I see Frida I think of this letter/poem that she wrote.
Literally lolled
So right now, I’m SUPER chuffed with Past Monica, who had the foresight to buy a She-Wee to bring on the trip. Literal life saver!
Yeah. It’s a relief isn’t it, a real freedom to realise that you don’t have to be loved by all to be genuinely loveable or worthy of love ❤️
lol yeah no contact with that one by my choice these days too. I guess it all is ok, and I have time for those people who enrich my life ❤️ #hinthintlookinatyou x
I had a similar experience with a close female platonic friend years ago. She had derided many of our mutual friends back then, and now she speaks to all of them… but not me. Even when a mutual deliberately sat us together at a wedding and told us “work it out”. No idea still what exactly I did.
😂😂😂 I’m sure you’ve seen the video that does social media rounds every now and again of a bunny going psycho-binky-fest in the middle of the night, runs over a couples’ heads in bed. He says “he’s such a prick” and the woman sleepily says “I love him” 🤭😂
lol lookin lizardly goooood 😂❤️
Why is it the naughtiest pets that we love the most?? 😂
Have had some great larb here on my trip. Such an underrated dish!
Hehe lovely to see you Crit! ❤️
Feeling pretty shiny in this moment too! 🤩
Peak biophilia moment 🥰
Vicarious joy ❤️
Wat Chedi Luang ❤️ The guide told us the damage was from an earthquake, but this website says maybe earthquake, maybe war. Whatever the case… I love it.

Various views of Chiang Mai’s mountains from the once-lively and fancy but now kinda-tired old hotel I stayed at: 23rd floor and 4th floor views 🌃🏙️🌆
Night markets for take home dinners and street food; day markets for fresh produce. Pics from two separate tours in Bangkok, but similar markets spotted in Chiang Mai and Chaiyaphum.
Heh the Chiang Mai pics are incoming. Today is the first day I’ve had to actually kick back, journal, draw, post a bit. Hanging at the hotel and letting myself actually rest after a fun week of busy solo travel :) it’s the first time I’ve traveled since 2016 and my heart feels very full of gratitude
Not just a cooking lesson, but an amazing half-day experience, meeting a beautiful local woman who has built an incredible business from nothing (literally lived on the streets as a kid) and now shares her good fortune with her whole local community. www.cookingwithpoo.com
Bangkok sunset, a quiet-feeling moment in a lively, noisy city
Canal cruise around one of the Bangkok waterways (thanks for the rec Mary-Helen & Sandra!). Someone really loved this boat, it was kept and polished/treated immaculately. The tour guides here are so knowledgeable and love their city/country so much, and it’s a pleasure to hear and experience this.
Street? I guess the definitions vary…
Exploring a new city is my favourite thing, even when it’s a bit out of my comfort zone. Hi Bangkok! I think you’re awesome!
