There’s so many unloved IPs out there like this.
A lot of indie devs would be better off getting licenses on legacy IP instead of risking it all trying to build an audience for new IP in a crowded market.
Pelmeni dumplings with sriracha and sour cream is next level.
We're hiring more roles at our studio! If your needs fit our skills and vice versa, please apply -- and if not, please tell your friends who might be looking for a new opportunity!

I’m sorry you won’t be there, Freya, but I understand. I’ll be at GDC presenting on fundraising, and will be available if anyone needs support.
I encourage anyone to reach out if I can be helpful or supportive at the conference or otherwise.

Made some big changes this year already! Consultancy is enjoyable but at this stage of my life, I am ready to go back to full-time to dedicate to one studio and passion! If you have any needs for a badass CM, marketing or influencer manager, PR, event planning, or host in gaming, I’d love to chat!
Gameplay video!
#playdate Quake-like engine progress!

- engine starting to take shape
- collisions!
Hi, Chad. I am definitely not the Unreal dev you’re looking for, but I have a few clients that might be a good fit for this. Pls DM if you’d like to chat.
This is the biggest leap forward in a long time for simulating a CRT on a modern display. Even the 120hz demo (if you have a 120hz monitor) is incredible. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that this open source code hacks the human eyeball into perceiving smooth movement.

Impressed with tonight’s Game Awards, which has come a long way from a show that was a little cringey at times a couple of years ago to what felt more confident and well-executed tonight. Highlight for me was Amir Satvat’s moving acceptance speech. He’s such a beacon of hope for the future!
I put #picotron carts on a CDN and sped up cart mounting a bit for browsing bbs:// directly in filenav 0.1.1e (I'll backport this to #pico8 too -- so that any cart visible in splore is already downloaded and cached).
Congratulations to all the nominees (and winners) I would love this to achieve greater visibility in future years. If you want to try out the games themselves you can find them here.

Settling into Path of Exile 2. I struggled early, but I’m starting to get a feel for it.
Gearing and grinding got me past the Devourer on POE2. Rewarding kill, but still feeling more than a little overmatched by this game. I do enjoy the rush of beating a challenge, but often don’t have the patience to persist through a whole game where I’m at the fringe of my skill level.
It’s also usually OK to share aggregate numbers that include Steam and other platforms. I just saw what looked like it could have been clipped from a dashboard and figured I’d say something. Thanks for the links 😀
ok, cool. I didn’t know where this came from, but i know folks are sometime eager to share info from the dashboard without diving into the distribution agreement and seeing it’s prohibited.
Congrats once again. It’s cool of you to share this, but be aware that Valve typically treats sales and usage data directly from Steam dashboard as confidential information. Steam Distribution Agreements are typically pretty restrictive on that unless you negotiated special terms.
I was able to kill an elite, but was so overwhelmed by mobs and on my last potion that i died before I was even able to pick up the loot. Just relentlessly unforgiving.
I’ve died maybe 8 times to the Devourer, which is I think the first or second boss? Going back to gear and grind; maybe try another class?
I don’t want a cakewalk, but I also want to play this couch co-op with my wife, who is generally less skilled than me at ARPGs but can keep up in Diablo 4.
One of the things I like about Diablo is that it doesn't get in the way of me enjoying it on my terms. The combat action in Diablo is not as dynamic and compelling as POE2, but it's not going to just kick my ass unless I choose to have that kind of experience with it.
I really want to enjoy Path of Exile 2 more than I am, but the unrelenting difficulty means I'll probably never get to enjoy 99.9% of it. Like Returnal, it's not unfair, but the skill threshold is so high, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to meet it.

I feel the same way about legal in games. Devs generally hate legal, but this class of boring stuff turns out to be very important and can easily crush a studio if not handled.
I’m going to do a 🧵 about making retro-style games in C/C++, and also about getting them to run in a browser.
