This is not legal advice. Your situation might differ. I just used google and found this link. I am not a lawyer. "You wanted to be a game dev, so you should figure it out.", as you always say. I fear nothing more than tax related stuff. www.justanswer.co.uk/tax/ao5sk-di...
Wow, I did not know this. That's a great feature.
It did come back to your original point... scrolling through the discovery queue it is pretty sad to see all the <25 review games. PCVR is hard work.
There is also a category "VR Titles" which has tabs for several genres.
There is a "VR Only" tag, and in Visuals & Viewpoint there is a "VR" tag.
The main annoyance on steam is that "more like this", "Discovery queue" don't seem to care that you play 90% VR games and mostly show flatscreen games.
#VR #RTS Now with spectator camera. Be smart, strong and strategic in the Unoffensible Demo on steam now. πͺπ§ βοΈ. store.steampowered.com/app/1648700/...

Working on Unoffensible to include persistent terrain damage.

Not worried, after 3 years I know I will not get enough sales to cover the cost of the project. I still know what to work on every day, most of the days I feel more productive than in my previous job. On the bright side, I still feel happy when I see a single added wishlist π.
If I understand what @golongself.bsky.social is doing with store.steampowered.com/app/1648700/..., we are in for a PCVR RTS treat. Multiple units, ground-up VR interactions, direct control for rapid deployment, complex mechanics and building tiers. This is being built for RTS fans. #vr #pcvr
Thanks! Saw your post on playing Final Assault, which is a good VR strategy game.
Unoffensible leans more on VR by making all units physically movable. You will feel like your actions matter, you are not just watching the battle. Base/Unit building uses VR specific UI, so you are part of the game.
Where is #VR #RTS?
3. Strategy games in VR always lack a RTS core feature. Either base building, resource gathering or unit control.
Did I miss a VR #strategy game that has these core features?
Where is #VR #RTS?
2. Strategy games in VR always have low unit count. Most of the time enforced by a hard limit.
Did I miss a VR #strategy game that results in big battles?
Where is #VR #RTS?
1. Strategy games in VR always have the same gameplay as they would have in pancake mode. It just adds the VR perspective. All other interactions just become harder, compared to mouse and keyboard.
Did I miss a VR #strategy game that cannot be played with mouse and keyboard?
Civilization on quest seems like a hard genre to pull of in VR. The best RTS in VR is probably still Brass Tactics. Most other VR strategy games either lack depth or have minimal VR interactions.
Or both... will civilization be ground braking for strategy in VR?

There is no reason for this code to exist, even without the error. The error was probably the only thing keeping the compiler from just removing the code in production π.
They are all solid games, well polished. The intuitive VR interactions and the freedom to pickup everything, make them nice to play for everyone.
UI in VR seems to have so many possible solutions. I want the player to be able to see their resources, but not be in view all the time. So its at the inside of the arm. Hovering over a buyable item adds the cost and moves the UI over the item. Or I could have placed a big resource UI in the skyπ€...
Hope everyone finds a new job within VR. There is not a lot of brain to drain from the VR development pool, before it runs dry. And these studios should have been able to leverage their experience in VR to push it forward.
With the hands so clearly in view I always think this is a VR game from the trailer. Don't think there is VR support. Looks like a fun little game though.
VR needs more RTS. Can't wait to give this a go.
Steam RTS fest was really successful. Was expecting a bump like during "steam strategy fest", but got a bump like "steam next fest". It helped that there were so few virtual reality real time strategy games. The VR tab of the fest only had 1 page of games, including Unoffensible (+190 wishlists).
Some genres in VR are less popular than others. Only look at the VR tab during the current steam RTS (Real Time Strategy) fest. It all fits on one page. This even includes older titles.
True, watching playtesters hurts π .
Great overview, nice to see some new RTS games!
Unoffensible demo (VR RTS) has got a new update for the steam RTS fest. Now the terrain shows you when and where you are attacked. You'll never be surprised your base has been destroyed again, because now you have time to prevent it!!
Good luck commander.
