The verdict of Jamie Felix took less than two hours to decide late Thursday evening earlier this week.
Felix is on trial in Winnipeg for five counts of second-degree murder in 2023.
There was a shooting incident in the Red Earth Cree Nation in Saskatchewan earlier this week where two suspects had fled the scene.
Saskatchewan RCMP has now released the identity of one of the suspects.
42-year-old Deborah Anishinabieβs body was by Thunder Bay police in late 2024 and Levi Michael Lawson was charged with second-degree murder and indignity to a human body.
Lawsonβs trial date will be set at a future hearing.
