War should always be the last resort.
And if America is going to fight one, it must be legal, strategic, and necessary.
This war is none of those things.
Very soon we will have the chance to get past the chaos; to the enduring promise of the American dream and the renewed hope of a nation ready to build again.
Fourteen months in, let’s get real. Donald Trump is really bad at his job.
He learned nothing from his first term and last year. Costs up. War in the Middle East. Bailout for Russia.
Chaos, cruelty, corruption are the hallmarks of his presidency.
POTUS gets us into a war in Iran. Iran gets intel from Russia to target us. POTUS lifts sanctions on Russian oil to help Russia. Obscene.
Donald Trump launched a war in Iran without authorization from Congress, without a plan, and without explaining the costs to the American people.
Now he wants $50 billion to keep it going.
Congress shouldn’t give him a blank check.
Russia is an enemy of the United States. They are helping Iran target our service members in the Middle East and have been anti-freedom forever.
Trump’s response? Give them money by loosening sanctions.
Make it make sense.

Let’s be clear: this war never had a clear objective.
Is it stopping a nuclear program?
Regime change?
“Total surrender”?
Even the administration can’t answer that question.
You don’t send Americans into danger without a strategy.
This war is already costing the United States billions.
Meanwhile families at home are paying more at the pump and watching Washington cut programs they depend on.
If we can find money for bombs, we should be able to invest in Americans.
What he says:
Tariffs were going to make us richer.
Prices were going to go down.
Higher oil prices are good for America.
What he means:
You will be paying more for gas, and I don’t care.
The playbook is clear: Donald Trump and MAGA want to rig the 2026 midterms to lock in power.
By passing this temporary, emergency measure to level the playing field, VA voters have a chance to push back and make sure elections are decided by the people—not politicians manipulating the system.
Trump and his family have personally profited by at least $1–2 billion in the past year.
But you’ll have to be okay with higher costs for your groceries, gas, and health care…”for a while.”
MAGA won’t stop until our daughters have fewer rights than generations before.
And they’re working overtime to do it, instead of focusing on lowering your costs of gas, health care, and groceries.

Deceptive mailers from a MAGA-aligned group targeting Black voters in Virginia are disgraceful.
Using Civil Rights imagery and invoking Jim Crow to manipulate voters is a shameful tactic straight out of the MAGA playbook.
Vote YES on April 21 to protect fair elections.
The President has said that his war of choice could last 4-6 weeks. At $1 billion per day, that would be $28-$42 billion dollars of the American people’s dollars.
That’s money that won’t be spent lowering grocery prices, bringing down prescription drug costs, and helping families afford gas.
These service members and their families will forever carry the burden of this war of choice.
Mine and Cindy’s thoughts are with them and their families, and we hope they make a full and speedy recovery.
Energy efficiency is one of the fastest ways to lower costs. I’m working to make sure Virginians can access federal programs that reduce utility bills.
Trump and Hegseth started a war with Iran without telling the American people the plan—or the price.
The cost will be measured in American lives and billions of taxpayer dollars.
Reckless wars are easy to start.
They’re a lot harder to end.
I support funding for home energy upgrades that lower Energy bills month after month—real relief families can feel.
Trump and his administration may be confused — but Russia is not our friend.
They threaten our allies, our interests, and our democracy.
All we need is one Republican to put country over party and help hold Russia accountable.
Donald Trump knows your gas prices are outrageously high. The problem? He doesn't care - and isn't planning to do anything to fix them.
Virginia’s energy system should reward affordability—not guaranteed profits. I’m pushing policies that put ratepayers first.
Rex and Monty just heard the news that Kristi Noem is far, far away from puppies.
Morale is high.
Today, Congress voted on a War Powers Resolution to demand that Trump end this war with Iran immediately.
I voted YES to try to stop Trump from continuing this war and hurting more Americans at home and to protect American lives overseas.
Good riddance, Secretary Noem.
Secretary Noem violated the public trust — and then doubled down. Her lack of leadership fueled fear, chaos, and deadly misconduct.
Good riddance.
No surprise here: President Draft Dodger continues to sow chaos and war — because he has no personal stake.
Yesterday I voted to force House Ethics to release sexual misconduct reports involving Members of Congress.
As a former JAG, I believe in due process. This isn’t about baseless allegations—it’s about radical transparency and accountability.
Release the damn files.
I’m honored to earn the endorsements of Senators @markwarner.bsky.social and Tim Kaine — two tireless champions for our Commonwealth and exemplary public servants.
I look forward to continuing our work to build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Virginia.
Congress needs to know the goals this war is trying to achieve, and how it ends. Because we cannot let Trump put our service members at risk without a clear plan or purpose.
No more endless wars.
