The answer is both stranger and simpler than you would think. Human behavior is normally distributed. If someone CAN do something, someone WILL do that thing. Impossible to predict exactly who and when.
Society and survival then determine if that behavior is rewarded or punished.

A power loss plot doesn’t build character. It has been done a thousand times; and it gets worse with every use.
It just removes my reason for wanting to watch your show for the duration of the power loss plot.
Will not be watching new season of The Witcher.
The power loss plot in season 2 was almost unforgivable. Swapping out Henry Cavil because they couldn’t just follow the story.. hard pass.
The Diplomat is easily one of the best shows ever. The plot is intelligent snd the acting is fantastic.
