Their abstract makes them blend in so well, had it not been for it's mouse like movements up the trunk and distinctive high pitch calls, it could have easily gone unnoticed 😁👍

Loving painting during this cold snap! Without a Zeiss Thermal camera would have been impossible to pick up before flushing. Just after lunch became painting with ice, palette totally frozen, ice textures visible.

Another painting from the hills today where the Thrushes and chats are still sharing a marshy area of ground. First frozen palette, and brushes! of the Winter, making it impossible to carry on much after 1600hrs.

Fieldfare and Male Stonechat feeding among snow, Watercolour, 560 x 380mm. An icy northerly wind and the snow covering forces species I wouldn't normally see alongside, feeding together. Paint freezing and becoming tricky to mix as light fell.

A cold winter wonderland here in East Lothian and our first snow fall here at our new home so just have to make the most, very special just to sit out and listen to the fall of snow - so calming.
