standardizing weapon stats across all ship sizes and leveraging only capacitors led to the balance chasm we have now - either a light fighter and avoid hits entirely or a capital and ignore them. Everyone else in the middle are just prey for one or the other

If we actually had something that would make fielding a mostly crewed Idris with 1-2 Perseus escorts and 2-3 fighter escorts in the hangar worthwhile that would be a much different story - Arlington Idris and the datamined XenoThreat Idris missions would be a start for sure

Well also that there’s no persistent missions where you’d see any real ROI on having multiple 3-4 crew Perseus aside from faster clear speed - what you gain moving up to Polaris and Idris is near infinite survivability and the main time sink is still transit and prep time, not the mission itself

Perseus is great for ERTs, Patrols, Gilly #7/#8 (for a challenge) and high level Intersec attack missions - it falls short of the Polaris and Idris on engaging multiple fighters at once, as lacking a hangar and flying with 1-2 escorts is not feasible long term in Nyx. Still absolutely love her!

I would just love if they had actually included some new content that actually encouraged and rewarded Perseus crews - there’s a handful of existing missions where it shines, at least.

One of my favorite little details is the internals on the two cartridges are different - because the Legend of Zelda had a memory chip and battery so you could save your game while the Mario game didn’t have this!

Cipher is the player’s callsign in Ace Combat Zero, and the F15C is the fighter featured for Cipher and their wingman “Pixy” - the livery there matches Cipher’s standard

Except when the review process that led to such a score is fundamentally flawed and allows bias to cloud objectivity - such as IGN’s Alien Isolation review and then doubling down on that review a decade later. The best part of that review is how much scrutiny it brought upon games journalism

Interesting - that could be the Invictus Blue & Gold livery missing the gold accents (many liveries aren’t displaying correctly in 3.24.2&3) or it could be the Vanguard Sentinel base paint with the same issue
