Snowbound

I got back from hiking in the snow with my huskies and I feel endlessly inspired by the beauty of the snowy landscapes. The snow creates such an ethereal world, I wish I could have stayed longer.

This neuron was from a person. The donor, a 94-YO man with a perfect score on memory tests, died of non-neuro causes. Thanks to his donation, we can continue to learn that age-related cognitive decline is not inevitable.

I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.

“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.

The U.S. entered WHO via 1948 resolution passed by both houses of Congress. Trump WH’s unilateral action notifying the UN of US withdrawing violates US law because it does not have express approval of Congress to leave WHO.
