We've got our first Torpedo Bats story of 2026: a thing people will have strong, passionate knee-jerk reactions to and forget about entirely in two weeks.
(But props to Zach announcing that he's shifting platforms from SS to Ghost.)
Torpedo bat story is probably a very apt designation.
I think it's interesting — certainly a strategic experiment worth running for Miami and others — and while I have some mixed feelings about the introduction of a coordinator-style model into baseball, outrage isn't one of the feelings.
Honestly, the Phillies hiring Realmuto as assistant pitching strategy coach or something might have made more sense than what they actually did.
