Before the route maps, the new buses, the schedules, the maintenance, the social media, and all the planning…they were just kids.
Today, they’re the people keeping Milwaukee County moving every day. 💛🚌 #ThisIsWho #BabyTrend
Our Paratransit service will also still be running. If you aren't able to take your ride during this time, please call 414-817-9860 at least two hours in advance to cancel. (2/2)
Winter weather is expected through Monday, March 16. Potentially slick conditions are possible on untreated roadways due to a wintry mix turning into snow. MCTS service will be up and running, but delays are possible. Thank you for your patience as our bus drivers navigate their routes safely.

When a passenger ran onboard trying to escape a domestic violence situation, MCTS Operator Howard R. Jr. acted immediately, contacting dispatch and keeping the woman safe until help arrived.
Moments like this remind us transit is more than transportation. It’s community. #MCTSExcellence
Thanks again for sharing your perspective. We understand transfers can be frustrating when timing doesn’t line up, and we’ll pass your feedback along to our Service Dev team. And just a reminder, the Route 18 schedule is changing this weekend. Thank you. RideMCTS.com/ServiceChanges
Reminder: Our next round of service changes takes effect this Sunday, March 8.
It’s also Daylight Saving Time, so be sure to set your clocks ahead and double-check your schedule before heading out. ⏰🚌
We know changes to bus service can be difficult for riders and may affect daily routines. There’s a lot that goes into planning and adjusting bus service.

Starting Sunday, March 8, Route 88 will turn back at 107th Street on the west end, instead of ending at 124th Street.
This change is part of our 2026 Service Plan (Phase 2). Plan your trip and view updated schedules at RideMCTS.com/ServiceChanges.
Starting Sunday, March 8, Route 80 will turn back at Glendale Industrial Park near Green Bay & Florist on the north end, instead of ending at Good Hope & Teutonia.
This change is part of our 2026 Service Plan. Plan your trip and view updated schedules at RideMCTS.com/ServiceChanges.
All the stops in between those two points are just estimates...there is no early or late within those points. Then, once you know the scheduled times, you can use the Umo app for reference based on real-time estimates. Does that help? (2/2)
Treat the schedule like your guiding light, not the Umo app. To plan your trip from 6th and National, you must look at the scheduled times at the timepoints on either side of your stop (aka 1st & National and Layton & National). (1/2)
Furthermore, just because 6th and National is a major intersection on other routes doesn't mean it's a major intersection on the 18. Here are the timepoints for the 18. These are the only locations where the bus must match the schedule.
We’re not quite sure what your concern is. The bus you mentioned was on time at its scheduled timepoints. Again, timepoints are the only stops where the bus's arrival must match the schedule. All other times are estimates between those points. This is standard practice for transit everywhere.
Please note that 6th & National is not a timepoint, so buses aren’t required to wait there to match the schedule. We appreciate you sharing your experience and hope this helps clarify the timing. (2/2)
Thank you for reaching out. According to our playback, the Route 18 bus arrived at 27th and National at 6:27 a.m. and at 1st and National at 6:36 a.m., both matching the scheduled times. (1/2)
March 2, 1955: 15-yr-old Claudette Colvin refused to give up her seat on a segregated Montgomery bus (9 days before Rosa Parks). She was among the five women originally included in the federal court case challenging Montgomery’s segregation law. #HonoringClaudette #WomensHistoryMonth
Starting Sunday, March 8, all trips on Route 24 will turn back at 74th & Edgerton near Southridge, instead of serving Downtown Greendale.
This change is part of our 2026 Service Plan (Phase 2). Plan your trip and view updated schedules at ridemcts.com/ServiceChanges.
We’re very sorry to hear about this. Waiting in the cold when you’re just trying to get where you need to go is incredibly frustrating. That’s not the experience we want for our riders. If you reply with the stop location and the time you were waiting, we’ll look into what happened with that trip.
Starting Sunday, March 8, Route 11 will turn back at 92nd Street on the west end, instead of ending at 124th Street.
This change is part of our 2026 Service Plan (Phase 2). Plan your trip and view updated schedules at ridemcts.com/ServiceChanges.
While driving his route, MCTS Operator Latroy D. noticed a visually impaired passenger who became confused trying to cross the street. Without hesitation, Latroy got off the bus, guided the passenger safely across, and made sure they were okay. Everyday heroism looks like this! #MCTSExcellence

On a regular day driving Route 35, MCTS Operator Shalandria K. saw something no one wants to see: a hit-and-run. Instead of looking away, she acted FAST, alerting dispatch so a child could get the medical care they needed. That’s #MCTSExcellence in action!
