I try to evade them. And since coffee is not agreeing well with my stomach and my body most of the time. It leaves me with a strong tea or something special like Mate to keep me going when sleep is not enough.

While my protagonists are not evil, they are oftentimes gay and do crime, because some rules are stupid and meant to be broken...

I think this might be the true danger of AI. Not only GenAI, but AI as a whole. People will stop believing there are other people on the other side of the line...and dehumanization leads to truly horrifying things.

A post on Mastodon by small cypress (@small_cypress@indieweb.social): As an art teacher I was worried AI would come up as an issue of "why should I learn how to draw when I can use AI instead." But the real issue is that my middle schoolers CONSTANTLY believe all art I show them is AI. Digital art. Photography. Oil paintings from the Western canon. "A human couldn't do that" Being convinced that humans can't make great art is kind of terrifying

I spotted this on Mastodon and I find it horrible, not least for the speed with which this has happened.

When you just celebrated Halloween and everyone is already screaming christmas songs....

I didn't know what to think. On one hand, it felt like a little too much. Too quickly. But at the same time, it was an interesting progression. It spawned the entire branch of ideas around immortality...something that resonates within fandom to these days...

I couldn't help but join in this year's Halloween writings when I got an idea. It got much larger than I originally wanted.

The idea was: "What if Princess Celestia was Twilight's hallucination?"

I always liked the aspects brought through the Elements she wielded. Honesty going both ways, loyalty, laughter. As Nightmare Moon, she betrayed all of these and it's most probably why she's so hard on herself. Then there is the subtlety and empathy, especially in dreams... A lot to like for me.

I prefer the original form. I don't mind anthros, but my brain is just constantly aware of the dissonance, so I don't seek it and gently steer myself away from it in the spirit of "you do you".
