Currently working on a project called Travel through Books: reading one book from every country in the world that teaches me something about the culture and/or history of the people that live there. I am creating an atlas journal to record my experience.

15.04.2025 00:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How do people read FOUR BOOKS by an author they seem to hate and then bash them constantly on the internet?! Just stop reading them, ITβS NOT WRITTEN FOR YOU! Not every piece of art is for everyone. I give an author two chances and move on if Iβm not vibing. There are a lot of books on my TBR!

π¨BREAKING. From a program officer at the National Science Foundation, a list of keywords that can cause a grant to be pulled. I will be sharing screenshots of these keywords along with a decision tree. Please share widely. This is a crisis for academic freedom & science.
04.02.2025 01:26 β π 27920 π 15812 π¬ 1279 π 3687I donβt read a lot of classics but Patricia Highsmith is an exception. She had a talent for getting inside a twisted mind. Everything Iβve read about her suggested she was an unpleasant person to be around, but she somehow gets me to root for this villain, Mr Tom Ripley.
05.02.2025 01:17 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Started my book for Belgium π§πͺ for the Global Reading Challenge. Itβs a spy novel that takes place during the 1958 World Expo in Brussels. Not a typical read for me but Iβm learning a lot already!
π Expo 58 by Jonathan Coe
Multiple colleagues of mine have had their public health research funding frozen. Pulling back biomedical research and dismantling systems that allow our country to collaborate with great minds (both within the US and across the world) is going to hurt population health in the long run.
25.01.2025 11:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes, itβs so beautifully written. Itβs my first book by this author, but definitely not my last.
23.01.2025 12:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm reading this book right now and I love it so much! Perfect wintry read, enchanting and I love learning about the mythology of the fox in Chinese culture! π¦
23.01.2025 11:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ooh let me know what you think! I read it just a couple of days, it was addicting but I had some issues with it overall

20.01.2025 17:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Dear #Goodreads, please let me delete all of Neil Gaimanβs books from my lists. I am heartbroken and my heart breaks over & over again whenever I go to the site. Enough with the error messages about βunusual activityβ on his books. Itβs NOT unusual! I loved his books once, but I want them gone now!!
20.01.2025 14:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It was more embarrassing than anything. I was walking my dogs with my husband and suddenly I was on the ground! A little sore but otherwise okay. Thanks for your concern π
20.01.2025 10:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I took my time with this one and it shattered my heart but I loved every minute of it. Meticulously researched and beautifully woven. One of my favorites.

19.01.2025 23:44 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I read pretty diversely but noticed most of the BIPOC authors I read are either Black or Asian. Iβd love to read more Latinx or Hispanic authors. Please send book recommendations if you have them #books #latinxauthors
