Currently working on a project called Travel through Books: reading one book from every country in the world that teaches me something about the culture and/or history of the people that live there. I am creating an atlas journal to record my experience.
Sometimes I bake when I’m stressed. Today I made this caramelized banana cheesecake strudel and it helped to elevate my mood!
How do people read FOUR BOOKS by an author they seem to hate and then bash them constantly on the internet?! Just stop reading them, IT’S NOT WRITTEN FOR YOU! Not every piece of art is for everyone. I give an author two chances and move on if I’m not vibing. There are a lot of books on my TBR!

I don’t read a lot of classics but Patricia Highsmith is an exception. She had a talent for getting inside a twisted mind. Everything I’ve read about her suggested she was an unpleasant person to be around, but she somehow gets me to root for this villain, Mr Tom Ripley.
Started my book for Belgium 🇧🇪 for the Global Reading Challenge. It’s a spy novel that takes place during the 1958 World Expo in Brussels. Not a typical read for me but I’m learning a lot already!

Multiple colleagues of mine have had their public health research funding frozen. Pulling back biomedical research and dismantling systems that allow our country to collaborate with great minds (both within the US and across the world) is going to hurt population health in the long run.
Yes, it’s so beautifully written. It’s my first book by this author, but definitely not my last.
I’m reading this book right now and I love it so much! Perfect wintry read, enchanting and I love learning about the mythology of the fox in Chinese culture! 🦊

Dear #Goodreads, please let me delete all of Neil Gaiman’s books from my lists. I am heartbroken and my heart breaks over & over again whenever I go to the site. Enough with the error messages about “unusual activity” on his books. It’s NOT unusual! I loved his books once, but I want them gone now!!

I took my time with this one and it shattered my heart but I loved every minute of it. Meticulously researched and beautifully woven. One of my favorites.
Started 2 buddy reads, snuggled with my pets, fell on some black ice, baked some pistachio dark chocolate chip cookies. Not a bad Sunday!
I read pretty diversely but noticed most of the BIPOC authors I read are either Black or Asian. I’d love to read more Latinx or Hispanic authors. Please send book recommendations if you have them #books #latinxauthors
