Pay equity change a 'real slap in the face' to women

Comment: Ahead of a new report, People's Select Committee member Steve Chadwick describes her shock at discovering the minister responsible for policy impacting thousands of women and their families had agreed to make the pay equity process even harder.

I like your list!

My main addition would be parties/candidates who are clear about not following or being complicit with tyrannical leaders of other countries even those who are traditionally allies.

I don’t know how realistic this is sadly.

Some friends have one. It’s cool but a bit impractical.

Manage My Health adviser appointed after hack is a former company director Ross Tanner was a director of Manage My Health Global until 2023. Meanwhile, one hack victim tells The Post a shirtless photo was amongst her stolen records.

www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news/3609...

> Manage My Health last week announced Tanner as “an advisor on privacy matters and governance for Manage My Health”. It did not say he was, until June 2023, a director of Manage My Health Global, the sole owner of Manage My Health

The struggle is real!

It sounds like they’ve had quite a bit of advice and offers of help.

TBH you could google ‘how to handle a data hack’ follow advice that comes up and do a better job than they have. This will be used as a case study on what not to do.

Right?! This is a lesson in how not to handle a cyberattack.

MMH Cyber Breach Update 6 January 2026 | Manage My Health Further to our 5 January 2026 update regarding the cyber security incident, Manage My Health provides the following update.

This is a really terrible press release. Shades of DARVO. Lots of minimising and deflection with a side order of smoke and mirrors.

Also, bolding half of a word doesn’t speak well of their attention to detail.

The MMH breach is a cluster. It looks like a very trivial issue (unsecured S3 bucket) which is cloud security 101.

The company are handling it very badly with a lack of transparency and delaying in contacting users.

I’ll be asking my GP practice to change providers.

My partner emailed our GP this morning and got a call from them 10 mins later (pre 9am).

He let them know that he’s an IT professional who has seen a number of hacks and that this one was being handled very badly by MMH. The GP manager was very interested to hear that.

My partner strongly suspects this also.

Screenshot of Manage my health menu options including a new two-factor authentication option.

I have a manage my health account. I have not heard from them yet about whether any of my information has been compromised.

However when I just logged in I was interested to spot a new 2FA feature. 😒

Talk about the wrong priorities. I’ll ask my GP about changing systems.

I’ve never seen that. I’ve also never discovered a drawer of the card catalogue filled with urine, but a former coworker did apparently!

I’ve worked in public libraries for 20 years, today was the first time we’ve had to tell someone they couldn’t bring their chainsaw in the library.

Today is Transgender Day Of Remembrance.

Last night the New Zealand government chose to announce that they are blocking access to puberty blockers for trans youth.

A photo of a pack of rubber gloves in a shop. They are named something that suggests they are comfortable, but in a rude way

look I'm no branding expert but I possibly would have called these something else
