Updated with some late notes, including Ryan Ufko's beautiful first NHL goal.

Myers to DAL: He's not in the latest DobberHockey top-300 Skaters for a good reason, as he's no longer a top-pair D-man. The move to a 3rd-pair role in DAL could help him do more with less ice time. One of Bichsel or Lyubushkin will sit for DAL, while the young guys get extra tough minutes in VAN.

Fantasy Hockey Poll: Skaters with the Most Beneficial Usage & Deployment Many a fantasy GM has wondered whether some of their players could do better if only they were given a true chance to shine, while at the same time hoping others, who they might not have expected to thrive to the extent they are, will continue to do so because of their better than anticipated [...]

Ramblings: Recapping the Olympic Play-Off Round; Highlighting some Notable Prospects & More (Feb 18) We’re still a week away from the NHL returning, so to open up today let’s open up with some Olympics recaps of the Men’s Qualification Play-Off round from yesterday (which is a short way to say that the winners make the quarter finals against other group of teams that received a bye). In the early [...]

I've wondered about the last few weeks of the season too, and how many games off they're going to be giving their big guns. Could have a big impact on fantasy playoffs in H2H leagues.

Judging by Haight and Jones skating with scratches Spacek and Aube-Kubel and injured Boldy and Bogosian, looks like Eriksson Ek and Johansson will return. #mnwild would have to make some roster moves to activate em

Fantasy Hockey Poll: Is There Still Hope The general rule is it takes until game 200 for “normal” sized forwards to break out, but game 400 for forwards who are larger or smaller framed to do so. All of the forwards in this month’s poll were once seen as likely to be impactful, whether due to draft spot, performance before coming to [...]

Ramblings: High-Scoring Helenius; Hagel’s Heater; Top-Line Dach; Some Recent Fantasy Trades & More (Jan 21) After Brandon Hagel started the season with one point in seven games, there were many poolies unwilling to wait on him, and those who dropped/traded him early are now kicking themselves. With two goals and an assist last night, he has 45 points in 36 games since October 25th, adding exactly three shots per game, [...]

Cup Chances, Jan 16.

(Fun fact: I had to change the text colour for the sabres from the default white to black today because this is the first time since I started making the chart however long ago that they've had a chance large enough for noticeable text)

Vegas and Utah have similar drops in the early-mid second period, but interestingly they rebound even further. I wonder if that's something to do with their styles of play being hurt by the long change?

Have you read the Three Body Problem or any of Andy Weir's books?
The other book I've enjoyed most this year was Murder Your Employer.

Ramblings: Disappointing Nights and Seasons from Stamkos, Gibson & MacDermid; Goalie Outlooks; Trade Block Mistakes & More (Dec 3) In a Ramblings full of underperformers, the poster-boy for it on my teams this year has been Steven Stamkos. Somehow though, with another goal last night Stamkos has quietly put up five points in the last four games, including his first two assists in 20 games. Stammer still has some positive regression coming based on [...]

It's all formula based, between age, previous years, future projection, currant and future contracts, etc.

If he keeps up his current pace for more than a 20 game sample size then it's going to start weighing a lot more towards a further jump in the rankings.

Top-200 Cap League Skaters – November 2025 The rookies have been added, with some of them making more of an impact than expected this early. Matthew Schaefer and Alexander Nikishin will be much higher in the next update if they keep these scoring levels up. In the meantime, just enjoy watching them play. Standard pre-rankings note: This isn’t meant to be a [...]
