Yes, patient is sick with fever and hypotension, very uncommon in ´simple ´ peritonitis and presence of air within the cavity ; bad outcome very likely to happen ; save the patient first and also the membrane to restart PD later

I also agree; colonic perforation is likely to explain the whole picture ! IV antibiotics and restart PD later if patient still wanting

Thank you for your post. Yes indeed, it’s impressive : all our new elderly patients are now on this DIDo CAPD regimen : 3 bags/day leaving whole day free of manipulations and a short 2-3 hrs glucose dwell in laye afternoon. In older patients, water and sodium removal is the key point !

The goal of the DIDo Study was really to show that using 2 #icodextrin dialysates a day is a save and efficient approach ; enfanced #ultrafiltration and reduced #glucose exposure ! Even at #CAPD initiation : a paradigm shift in the #PD prescription
