So I listened to this episode last week with much excitement! A couple days later I was at a banding operation. They were almost wrapping up when a PIWO hit the net. Everyone eventually walked (or flew) away unharmed. 😲

The Blue Jays in my yard must not be local as they are mimicking the wrong hawk.

The Chickadees and Pine Siskins are trying to hold back their laughter.

Now the DOGE scumbags are coming for the Bird Banding Laboratory (part of USGS). They just lost two senior staff members and are going to be stretched extremely thin. Without their office, bird research does not happen.

The zoom/crop of the two phots isn't the same, so take that into consideration for size/scale. Consider the relative size of the green perch bars. That makes the mystery bird a good bit smaller than the woodpecker.

Thus... sparrow. Field Sparrow? Partially leucistic House Sparrow?
