xiao clutches blindly at his face with one clawed hand as dark horns emerge from his hair; venti in his archon form hugs xiao from behind, arms looped over his shoulder, cheek pressed to xiao's nape, and wings encircling them--exuding comfort and grief both in the moment when he loses him

xiao and venti are tangled together as they fall; xiao has the jade-wing spear in one hand and the other snagged around venti's waist. venti's arms are looped over xiao's shoulders, skyward harp and an anemo arrow clasped in his hands; venti smiles, eyes glowing anemo teal, as his cape flutters over them

a hatless venti offers a soothing song and an embrace to a wounded xiao, whose clothes are torn and streaked with blood. one hand clutches the yaksha mask, the other gripping venti's upper arm; xiao's face is buried in venti's shoulder, revealing only a slice of his pained snarl (we got a lot of angst in this post today, huh???)

xiao holds up venti in archon form, both arms braced under his thigh; with his back to the viewer, venti presses an unseen kiss to xiao's forehead, his huge feathery wings mantling protectively over them both
