My pick of 2025 is #DATA
Which is why I continue to hold them. Tiny tiny position/punt which I have already written down to 0 - they hold 2BTC. They’re as good finished now I think.
£26m is just the figure they quote for ENI, not NLW and wage differential
#NXT are just brilliant at providing detailed breakdowns of cost. Credit to them. I think they know that everyone looks to them as bastions of good reporting and as commentators on the wider UK economy.
On ENI, an additional £26m on their wage bill as a £12b mcap company is not huge. ENI overblown?
Yes very true, I’m not sure it’s necessarily a buy signal. But I don’t think it’s just about averaging down given the consistency of purchases.
These buys are all pretty much by the same Director. The same director took another company from £6m to £1.6b and into the FTSE250.
The same thing
When you see Director Buys like this, what’s your first thought?

I’m wondering if Musk’s fascination/intrusion into UK politics simply that the language isn’t a barrier so he understands more of what’s going on here. In which case foreign language is a defence against foreign political interference.
I think we must have similar portfolios. I’m shocked at the double digit % gains quite a few people are showing for the YTD - although I recognise that amongst the great shares I own, I’ve invested in some real bogies this year - #LIO, #ZTF, #IGP, $AMD, #CAV - all been a huge drag
Diaceutics secures it's 2nd largest contract for $5.1m initially for 2 years with an expectation of an extension to this.
DEUTSCHE BANK RESEARCH RAISES ROLLS-ROYCE PRICE TARGET TO 630 (555) PENCE - 'BUY
#EGT confirmation of a significant rare earth's find. Cathal Friel has 19% exposure here and is clearly outlining targets to increase sp by multiples by revenue accretive acquisitions and divestment of these significant mineral deposits.
#FTC Filtronic: the Board now expects to deliver stronger results for the full year than current market expectations.
The cynic in me feels it’s a response to the success of Paul Scott in doing the same
#AET They’ve bought and fully paid for multiple assets, are producing over 2m boe p/a net to Afentra, this will continue for twenty years or so, all without raising any equity. A lot more to come here, incremental organic growth, new onshore assets to be worked up and more acquisitions.
Next week looks like potential interims from #GDWN
Awaiting news on Easat contracts
#APTA
One to watch for 2025
Name please. I’m always looking for reasons to shake my head in disbelief and haven’t done so in at least 12 hours
That’s a good point - perhaps shrinkflation is productivity enhancement
Thank you. I’ll find the video and post the link here for anyone else interested
Anyone have views on #DATA GlobalData? Impressed by their metrics but coverage on them is thin.
No idea what’s going on with #FNX. Maybe people were expecting a trading ahead statement in the AGM release
Agreed
There’s an argument for the productivity gains to be made by her raising NI as companies look to do more with fewer staff, however the other side of this is that it’s the public sector and not the private sector that really needs to see productivity gains. I’m suspending judgement for now.
Would love to see you post here more often. I’ve been following you on X and share quite a few of your holdings.
Well that wasn’t a great purchase. I’m still holding but grateful that my sizing was appropriately limited.
Feel vindicated in not buying this one. Was a close one!

This is surely good news for #YCA in the long term. Perhaps a buy and hold for decades to come?
