Tweet from Paula Scanlan that reads, "the number of people I still see wearing face masks in the year 2026 is genuinely concerning"

Tweet from Jerome Adams that reads, "Why do you care? Honestly asking. I thought the original mantra was “to each their own.” It sounds like you’re wanting to impose your priorities/belief systems on others while saying they shouldn’t impose theirs on you? What am I missing?

Also, beyond Covid – many people have found wearing a mask, has lowered their allergy symptoms- and pollen counts are rising this time of year. And Asian cultures have worn masks for years – are you bothered by Asians? Again honestly asking. 🤷🏽‍♂️"

Appreciate former Sugreon General Jerome Adams pushing back on anti-mask sentiment on Twitter/X

A dark blue graphic for International Women’s Day featuring a purple and blue gradient hand icon with a heart in the palm at the top. The word "WOMENS" is written in large block letters, with each letter containing a black-and-white photo of women. Below it, the word "Day" is written in pink script. At the bottom, pink text reads: "Diseases that mostly affect women – like Long Covid and ME – are still trivialised, psychologised, and dangerously underfunded. Medical misogyny isn’t a relic. It’s alive and well."

👭 On #InternationalWomensDay we honour the women with Long Covid and ME and allies who keep pushing for truth, research, and care.

♀️Listen to women. Fund the science.

A digital poster for "Long Covid Awareness Day: Masked-Up Meetup." The text is displayed in large, blue 3D-effect lettering against a grainy, pastel purple and blue background. A row of nine abstract blue icons, including a heart, cloud, and star, are separates the main titles. The bottom left lists the event details: 13:30 Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Monbijoupark. The bottom right includes the logo for Berlin Buyers Club.

Organising a protest this year was regrettably just not feasible due to a lack of time and resources. However, we thought it would be nice to have the first meetup of 2026 (as long as the weather doesn’t make us cancel last minute 🥲) and be around community on a day that’s difficult for many of us.

#LongCovid folks, if anyone has an extra 1-3 metrix tests you’d be willing to sell me + send in the mail this weekend, you’d be doing me a big favor

I hate that doctors know we rely on them so much. As a result, some of them take advantage of that to subject us to their bullshit ramblings.

“Traveling is bad, it’s better to stay in your village.” So there you have it, I’m just an anxious girl who did this to myself by daring to travel beyond the “village” of Melbourne.

I tried telling him about my suspicion that I could potentially have leaky gut, judging by my symptoms, their persistence and that in the year prior to them starting, I had been put on 4 different antibiotics when I was living in China for a UTI, and had several bouts of bad food poisoning.

He then began rambling about how much he hates Google, said I must avoid it and explained that cancer is a disease for “older people, fifty plus”. I mean, so what that colon cancer is increasing in millenials right? We’re all just bloody paranoid!

He again insisted that it was important for him to see my face for diagnostic purposes; he had to assess how serious my complaints were. Apparently, he could tell just by looking at me that I can’t be seriously unwell. 🙄

After a brief discussion of my symptoms, he asked where I was from, “Romania?”, he guessed. I told him I grew up in Australia, but have Greek parents. He then asked me to remove my mask so he could see my face, and I obviously refused. “Why not?” he pushed. I told him I’d rather protect my health.

The coughing doctor, naturally, did not. He did sit behind a comical-looking glass panel, though: likely a useless remnant from the clumsy earlier days of this pandemic.

It reminded me why I’ve been avoiding the medical system as much as I can, even though I have ME, POTS, Endometriosis, autoimmune thyroid issues and reactive hypoglycemia. I obviously had my aura mask on during the appointment to protect myself.

I’ve had genuinely concerning gastrointestinal symptoms, persistently, since 2019, and it’s been such a struggle to be taken seriously enough by any doctor in Berlin to get a referral for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I finally had an assessment with a gastroenterologist today.

It’s cool how we just live in a death cult world and we’re supposed to act like it’s okay. Like yeah man apparently it’s cool to burn children alive 24/7 so that billionaire parasites out of touch with reality can get more money. Why are you being weird about it?

Can anyone point me to a resource on how sign "Long COVID" in American Sign Language? I've seen various ways from spelling it out, to using the sign for "Coronavirus" or "COVID-19" followed by "Long" or "Stay". I'm curious if there is any official guidance/recommendations. Many thanks 🙏

Your periodic reminder that in times of geopolitical instability - domestic, international, or both - an important element of building and maintaining both individual and societal resilience is to stay as healthy as possible. Protect your body and your brain: wear a respirator.

Close-up photo of a Mediterranean woman outdoors wearing a black face mask, with dark hair blowing across their face in the wind. One eye with bold winged eyeliner is visible. They are wearing a black top with a white lace collar, and a building number sign reading “10” appears blurred in the background.

@sophie-cd.bsky.social I think part of the reason it’s difficult to convince people in “the west” to mask is that we’ve been conditioned to glamourise self-destructive behaviour and to find proactive safeguarding of health “uncool”, unless it’s related to adhering to conventional beauty standards.

'This is the end of the relationship': The marriages under strain from long COVID Long COVID is not just destroying people's health. Behind closed doors, in homes across Australia and abroad, it is irreversibly changing relationships — sometimes for the better, too often for worse.

we might be starting to talk more about how long covid is decimating people’s health, ability to work and exercise etc. but there’s almost no discussion in mainstream media about how it’s affecting relationships.
tldr: it’s ripping them apart

Did you develop Long Covid after dropping precautions bc you believed the Great Barrington Declaration that young people will be fine if they get Covid-19? Please be in touch at jmetraux@motherjones.com for a potential @motherjones.com article and reposts are appreciated.
