I am truly shocked to not find more thinkpieces on the incredible graphic design and typography of Zohran Mamdani’s campaign but maybe that’s because searching on the internet is garbage now.
TL;DR lead designer was Aneesh Bhoopathy of Forge Co-Op

And finally:
“You don’t have to be stuck in grief and sorrow. You can allow for joy. Greet the cycle.”
Some memorable quotes:
“The conundrum of life is so beautiful and so temporary”
“It is work to be with grief. I’m encouraging that because in the other side of it there’s space for joy.”
“It is courageous to be vulnerable”
“Every heart carries the potential for profound healing”
It was a lovely talk on the them CYCLE from healing arts professional Linda Anne Goulet speaking to the cycles of grief and sorrow. Having lost another pillar of our friend community this year I pretty much cried the whole time.
Started my last day of work for 2024 by attending @creativemornings.bsky.social Monterey. So grateful to have enjoyed talks at 3 different chapters this year!
“Anytime we can make people stop for just a second and think ‘hmm, interesting’, that feels like a success” @summermurdock.bsky.social
“You have to be patient with yourself and explore.” @summermurdock.bsky.social
“If you do not move through the scene, you will miss things” - @summermurdock.bsky.social
“If you rely only on paid work to inspire you, you get burned out really quickly” @summermurdock.bsky.social
“I consider myself an awe collector. It’s the feeling that most motivates me to create photos” - @summermurdock.bsky.social
“We’re never posting a phone shot again on instagram without spending at least a minute in Lightroom” - @terryleewhite.bsky.social makes a room full of photographers pinky promise (and showed them how to add a border so instagram doesn’t crop!)

Audible cheers for renaming catalogs in Lightroom Classic 📷

Hi! I made a few printable ornaments for last year's holiday stream. Check out the source files in the description and find my folder. :) There are lots of other goodies as well from other designers/artists. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQzM...
Are you a creative on here who designed a holiday ornament? Getting my tree this weekend and I’ll love to hang some friends on the fronds! 🎄
Make art that you think is fuckin sick as hell. Make the shit you never thought you could that you always wanted to see. Beat your insecurity to death and fight to become your own favorite artist.
@annamcnaught.bsky.social 👋
Check out the starter packs that @kris.art made!
A thread about my experience at Creative Mornings Monterey: Thread with speaker Domini Anne 🧵
The speaker (Domini Anne) does body and movement work, as well as fashion design. She is not a visual artist & explained that she used generative artwork for her slides because “To me my relationship with AI is that I finally have a tool to bring my inner world to life”
An interesting perspective 👀
“We don’t know what stories people are weaving around the snags in their garment” 🥰
“If you don’t have options, you don’t have freedom”🎯
“It’s all perfect if we choose to look at it that way and if it’s imperfection it’s a work in progress” 🎉
“When we can create a through line, a thread, it can help us understand why something happened…that’s not a bad thing, but we’re still landing in the darning spiderweb. The other option for trauma is we block it, we leave the hole & find a different garment and we all know how that works out”
