Description of a talk to be given by me on Tuesday November 4th entitled 'Cloud Optimized Shapefiles' running from 2 to 2:30 at 'Lake Audubod' (presumably a room, I've submitted this talk on the assumption it will be given on dry land). The description of the talk reads: Imagine a world where you could take a bounding box, and with a few quick look ups do a web request to download just the rows of a shapefile that are within that bounding box and then also do a separate request for the properties since that is stored in a separate file. You no longer have to imagine because that world, is the world you live in. Join us for an exciting talk well suited for any person interested in the minutia of how obscure geospatial files formates and obsolete databate files are laid out internally. Furthermore scintillating discussions of geo indexing strategies will also take place. This is THE talk to attend if you are passionate about sidecar files. Cat pictures will be provided.
