Alright… 16. 😝 I just remember how dumb my friends and I were before 25 - lazy, easily manipulated, and eager to be validated.

We’re living in the aftermath of 15 years of mass, undisciplined internet usage, and I think it’s already affected critical thinking skills in scary ways.

The internet in general should be used under direct parental supervision until… honestly, probably 18.

It’s largely become a misinformation machine used to separate people from their money and data.

I took my sweet time making the video. It’ll be out this weekend.

It made such a big difference stepping away from YouTube over the summer. Our house is really coming together, and my daughter has a few new play structures in the backyard to keep us busy for the next couple years.

There are gamers, and then there are people who play video games.

The medium is going through some growing pains as long-term gamers come to terms with the difference between “play” and “entertainment.”

100% of games should give the option. ✌️ Both sticks, every axis - let us choose.

For 3rd person, inverted Y camera, un-inverted X.

For 3rd person shooters, I don’t mind “modern” controls where movement is all left-stick and aiming is all right-stick, despite that being awful in first person for me. I’d still prefer “Legacy” stick controls, though.

GoldenEye 64 forever determined how I’d feel comfortable controlling FPS. I use “Legacy” controls when available. Halo supports that, as does Destiny, but far too many FPS have not and I don’t find them enjoyable.

Inverted Y axis for looking up/down, and even “fire” on the left trigger.

I can back that up. I started rewarding my 2 year old with some game time (watching me play Animal Crossing) on days when she had a nap.

She wakes up VERY grumpy, and AC cheered her up.

It didn’t take long before it was all she wanted, and stopped working as grump relief.

So this change is a real bummer. Now I need to buy a second copy of anything we want to play together online.

It still works fine for sharing games that we don’t play together, though.

I would buy specific games on an account that has my nephew’s Switch set to primary, and he was able to play those games with me using his own account. My Switch was set to secondary for that alt account, and would need to authenticate each time for those games, but it allowed us to play together.

It’s still possible to do the primary/secondary method to share games, but it’s a setting that needs to be switched on in the system user profiles.

The “feature” that has been removed is the ability to play online together using that method.

That’s exactly it. Start high and they can always lower it, put it on sale, or bundle it. It will be part of a Black Friday deal for the next 8 years.
