Donate if you can 💙🕊️
I am proud to endorse this initiative, with thanks to the very many people made unwell by medical neglect of #ME who never give up, no matter how difficult it is to continue.
This fundraiser goes live 7pm BST 29 August 2025. #Justice4ME www.crowdjustice.com/case/justice... 1/2

"misinformation from decades ago which said the illness was psychological has caused stigma that still impacts patient care today"
Very well made 17 minutes from Re: News in New Zealand. Ads to skip.

Thanks to @tomkindlon.bsky.social for the share.
Using a mobility aid (mob scooter) when she went to uni ıs what helped my daughter improve a bit - it helped her pace better, saving energy for other things.
More alerting signs - education is interrupted, parents insist on children having medication in school, child may adopt ‘unnecessary aids’ such as a wheelchair.
The Final Delivery Plan for ME (once published) will go some way to start addressing these issues. But the RCPCH remains culpable and complicit in perpetuating this narrative.
Is it surprising? This module (and there was much more) is steeped in misogyny, paternalism, ableism and ignores mountains of scientific evidence on Long COVID, ME & other chronic illnesses in kids. This is MANDATORY training for healthcare staff, and rigs the system against those suffering.
Further to my thread this week on Fabricated illness - a topical article in the times ⬇️
Isla's mother has been arrested under suspicion of causing her death from ME last year (heart failure). There was no inquest. Isla's younger sister (15), who also has ME, has been removed from the only people who understand how the disease must be managed. Imagine her fear.
#MEKills #HumanRights
Read her words. Isla was already suffering age 8 at the hand of the UK health care systems.
Last year, she died from ME, despite her parents best efforts to protect her from this system.
So now the system has arrested Isla's mum...
@ashleydaltonmp.bsky.social your plan is not fit for purpose.
DAILY MIRROR: Mother's relentless fight for justice exposes the dire consequences of welfare cuts, as a tragic DWP error leads to a heart-wrenching suicide, casting a shadow over Labour’s disability policies.

When warnings of Insectageddon were issued a few years ago, there was widespread denial. Less so now. It's devastating. www.theguardian.com/environment/...
I’m incredibly proud of my friend @stephenunwin.bsky.social for writing such an important book. 🙏🏼
It will challenge the many misconceptions people have about #LearningDisabilities but it will also remind society that people like my son are first and foremost, human, just like you and me.
I remember this book- learnt to read with those ladybird books!
Once upon a time, 1963ish, Ladybird embarked on a grand new project: the ‘Peter and Jane’ reading scheme.
Artist Harry Wingfield illustrated the first books.
Amazingly, the girl who posed for those first books got in touch with me.
Here she is: meet Jackie Stanley (aka Jane)
It’s that time of year, people: got my data hat on again 🧢
