Alberta gvnt funding of private schools favours wealthy Albertans.
Private schools receive gvnt funding of 70% of public schools, that's about $8K/student. Add to that $15K avg private school tuition, you you get $23K/student funding in private schools vs $12K in public schools.
Equitable?
Other than some specialized schools, I really see them as little UCP preserves. The important people can be confident that their kids won't be polluted by wrong thinking, wrong religion, accents, "dumb" people, dark skin, etc. Forming good little fascists.

I think Alberta should stop calling them “private schools” and instead name them what they are: publicly funded enclaves of the elite. Or, education welfare for the wealthy.
