Def depends on your mindset, thinking about what you gained more than you feel you lost. What you know you did well in vs where you dropped the ball and how often. What you learned better & so on. Focus on healing, moving forward and the stretch of time until you feel better won't feel like forever

Pretty much, like it's flattering if you feel an artist can do justice to your creations, but at the same time it's a choice to approach em & request their labor so the choice is either you meet em where they wish to be in working w/ you or work with someone else that does less with artistic liberty

Yeaa the less picky types you deal with the better as the chance is high in not being enthusiastic to deal with them needing control over everything, the more you'll not enjoy workin on their stuff.
But yea, makes sense since with trad art was the masters' turf so we learn the basics they picked up

Sometimes it's half and half for me like it's shaded to look blended regarding shadows, it can be tricky if I color pick for clients that are picky about color, otherwise most of the time I'll adjust and eye ball since I was taught to train my eyes growing up as a traditional artist too

And the last thing to add on is I'll lose out on talking to ppl that played but dropped it. And never mind ppl that gets upset just over gacha games existing, even if someone meets more ppl that play them responsibly. Beyond character stuff, I love the stories & it feels like ppl ignore it lol

And like since my social circles are mostly furs, trust that most aren't playing or at least talking about anime styled games. Not that I have any real complaints cuz I don't wanna be in anime leaning social circles otherwise, unless they're heavily curated to be made up of ppl I trust lol

Most ppl around me either don't play/pay attention to Genshin, Honkai, or Zenless Zone Zero so I barely have ppl to blab to about em lmao
Then it's a wall up after the canyon when I don't make it well known I play the games cuz I don't need to be lumped in w/the fanbase I don't interact with lol

Almost reminds me of my dad when he talks in what I call 'vagueanese'. I wish I could say that it could be an issue of ppl being stuck in their heads with usually stuff they know and they don't think to ask if folks know what they mean but it's clear that folks communication skills have de-evolved

Aww I hope you recover a lot sooner! I imagine more artists have to spend their time at the compy a lil more since the job thing is really iffy at this point. My fiancée works from home and sometimes wears a wrist brace.
I purposely take less comms and take frequent art breaks to save my own hands

It's interesting since as adults, we find ourselves geeked up over the mundane pleasures like new hand soap, comfy bed sheets and good cleaning tools. No shame to be had when there could be worse things to satisfy your senses with lol

Yea, that's the gist of it, artists like feeling like their work has some reach even if it's just in a few people's hearts. We have to keep telling folks to stop putting us on a pedestal just cuz we trained a skill longer than someone or one they didn't at all cuz it can u-turn into disrespect lol

I wanna say I don't understand why ppl would say that but I understand enough that knowing your art has such powerful energy that shines through, it does make ppl build this unnecessary bridge between you and them.
Folks seem to conveniently forget you're another regular social creature just like em
