Comparison point: your neck is usually about as thick as your two wrists pushed together (changes with weight and fat distribution). So the shackle above being as wide as it is compared to the space for the wrists in the zip cuffs below would indicate it's sized for the neck.

No ratcheting lock (or built-in lock visible). I think if the items are all mostly to scale the zip cuffs are for the wrists then rope is applied over the swimsuit and then the neck is cuffed and locked. And if they're to scale it's too big for a wrist cuff.

Amazing chapter. After Hekate's Call, after the timeskip, it's unspeakably rewarding to get this glimpse into the old, familiar characters and where they are now. It's so well-realized - they really do feel like the same people, but it's just as clear that they've been growing and changing

Too wide for the nose, not deep enough to hold a tongue piercing, I don't see any other obvious points of connection. I think it genuinely might just be for the big neck shackle above since it doesn't have a ratcheting lock or whatever that I can see.

It's definitely some kind of bar lock. I just don't know what for. The middle piece slides into the top casing with the bar going all the way across and then the key below. I just don't know what it's locking in this situation.

This might be my favorite chapter in all of Mal's works.

It's not, like, some bombastic fight scene or red hot sex. Dont get me wrong, Mal writes those like nobody else.

But rather, there's something...real here. Like, actually real, peeking out between the words. It's beautiful.
