Itch's new content policy is:
1. We can't tell you what violates the rules.
2. If you violate the rules, we take all your money. Not just the money from that work, ALL your money from EVERYTHING you've ever made.
I don't care how much of a smol bean Itch is, this is not a viable platform.
you have a point but some of the funniest entertainment is just an artist screaming "NO, GOD NO, YOU SICK FUCKS NO, GOD, STOP" while desperately trying to work it into the narrative
oh he *gay* gay
Y'all got any examples? I believe it - given the processors and shit going on - but I'd like something concrete to share
gen xers constantly forgetting that lewd will always be the ally of queer
Hype man sorta implies a sort of cheerleaderish "look at my cool friend!" sort of guy, I mean someone who is literally there to make the readers go "OH FUCK [x] IS HERE OH SHIT IT'S THE GUY OH FUCK" whenever people start to lose interest
Somethng something Ender's Game something
Yeah, formerly my go to was "do they call themselves a dating sim at all" but now it's "Do they use the VN format and call it a dating sim" because if they do the latter, their idea of the genre is formed by, like, Ganguro Girl
Always always check if they call themselves "visual novel" or "Dating sim", it's such a reliable shibboleth. There are a few exceptions, but most of the time it just works.
>Does the visual novel advertise itself as a dating sim?
>yes>It's probably not great
>no>At least it's made by people who enjoy and love the medium
BYARK BYARK BYARK BYARK
With no sleep and generous assumption of only 80 hours per game, that clocks in at just under two weeks anyway. No sleep, just enough spare for food and toilet.
Totally doable.
Completely healthy.
No problem.
I honestly think Blooper's strengths ae similar to TRIGGER, who shine the most when adapting things
Blooper is cracked when making remakes, who coulda thought
It is my most strident opinion that while the classics are important, the reading lists of middle to high school english are in desperate need of updates
"mouth a violence" is a phrase that I cannot tell if it is powerful and evocative or extremely cringe, the waveform refuses to collapse
And duos are being considered to be added, too!
as a worker in a grocery store, yes please
but also! read Why We Buy, it's a little outdated but shines a light on why these stores are like this
new reason to keep around a magic 8 ball
This has lead to untold numbers of "psh, media illiterates don't even realize [x] is making fun of them" posts
And then you have the trend of "No, no, the dialogue should be way way low because it's so *cinematic*!"
THere are some games that strive for excellent balance and flaws to every strategy
and then there are games that are like "I WANT THE BIG NUMBER JUST AS MUCH AS YOU DO"
The fact that they might lose, even just a little tiny itty bitty chance, is really funny to me
"Written as a joke but could be the core of a fun fictional setting" number 25
Part of me wonders if it actually helped lol
This reminds me of Discworld

Humans are so good at optimization and refining that it's an incredibly common problem that we ovver-optimaze anything that gives us joy until it hurts us, which is
certainly something to think about

THere *is* a point where you have like... three or four avenues of progress left, and the only reason those are left is because they're the ones that require a Perfect Run - and not just a good run for the antechamber, a good run for That Thing.
Saw someone unironically post "I love this game so much, the drafting is just another puzzle!" and I could hear the loud hissing of his copium mask
