What boggles me more than someone’s intent to convert is the time it takes.
Christianity: you want to convert? Say this prayer. You’re a Christian now!

Back in the medieval period, Jews lived under heavy Christian scrutiny, as they were accused of drawing people away from Christ. Converts being rejected 3 times by a rabbi, etc grew out of this reality. Nowadays it’s far chiller, but still not a simple or quick process.
