I wanted to and wrote a non fiction rhymed story about Madame Tussaud. Whole story was written to the tune “Alouette, Gentille Alouette” One of the lines was “there she’d sculpt the severed heads. Of the newly regal dead”

Posted art, sketches, prompts we were doing weekly. I looked forward to the weekly rush to post for Colour Collective and the outpouring from the community for each other. Not just likes…but actual feedback and touching base. But even posting WIP to get some feedback.
I loved the UK community from those challenges!
I miss the back and forth in comments with fellow illustrators and camaraderie of cheering each other on. I haven’t been able to gain that here yet. Maybe it was the “newness” of prompt challenges like colour collective or illoadvent. #KidLit

The idea for this piece came from watching football. No kidding.
I watched a Baltimore Ravens game. Turns out their name is inspired by Poe. So I imagined Poe as a 12 year old boy gathering inspiration for his future work… which inspired NFL team.
