At the end of the day, though...
it's not hard to not be a piece of shit, and it's absolutely astounding how many people...both civilians and politicians/LEOs/etc...have shown their true faces.
The new AEI album in particular is an expression of absolute fucking dismay at that fact.
And as I've mentioned before, it's a sign of intelligence....not weakness...to be able to shift some of your opinions over time based on experience or new information.
The increasing bluntness in my punk and grind projects comes from both long-held beliefs, as well as gradually shifting ones.
More importantly, they're a conduit for me to express that there are still OG libertarians/classical liberals around.
We've always been on the same side on a lot of subjects. Over time, bad actors co-opt movements/names/flags, specific issues finally boil over and lines have to be drawn, etc.
We each have a story. People are, and life in general is, nuanced.
My grindcore and punk projects lately aren't generic punk/grind bloviation. They come from a very real place of frustration, reflection, and a moral boiling point being crossed for someone who wasn't (and still isn't) hard "left".
Fun fact: I used to be a pretty pro-LEO guy. Not like, hardline "Thin Blue Line" BS, but more of a general respect and the whole "don't be a piece of shit and you won't have anything to worry about" kinda thing.
Years of experience and observation showed me how deep and how far the rot extends.

I don't know how much appetite there is out there anymore for traditional grindcore with a variety of other influences; seems like everybody's all in on slam, goregrind, etc. lately.
In the end I make this music for myself first and foremost. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't hope this takes off
Not gonna lie, y'all. I really have high hopes for this upcoming LP. I feel like I've done a lot of legwork for this project the last few months, & I also think it's got some important messages. Plus it's the most fun I've had in a while.
