The right to speak our minds and to disagree with each other - to disturb, even - is at the very heart of what it means to be a free people. It is not to be denied. Not by violence, not by the abuse of governmental power, nor by acts of corporate cowardice. As a Guild, we stand united in opposition to anyone who uses their power and influence to silence the voices of writers, or anyone who speaks in dissent. If free speech applied only to ideas we like, we needn't have bothered to write it into the Constitution. What we have signed on to - painful as it may be at times - is the freeing agreement to disagree. Shame on those in government who forget this founding truth. As for our employers, our words have made you rich. Silencing us impoverishes the whole world. The WA stands with Jimmy Kimmel and his writers.

People told me I was overreacting in 2016 and again last year. Clearly I was under reacting. This country is being run by facists that are a danger to the future of the USA.

The murder of Charlie Kirk is terrible for our country. Violence is not the answer.
To learn from this, let's not fictionalize who Kirk was.
A day before his death, he said: "Islam is the sword the left is using to slit the throat of America."
That's not respectful speech. That's violent rhetoric.

Something we do at every convention that will let us is run a "So you want to work in comics?" panel, showcasing the many jobs you can have in comics.

There are lots of ways to work in comics without being the writer/line artist. You may not be the lead singer, but you are still in the band.

I made it after ECCC and kinda forgot about it until the other day. I forgot to do a “come see us” post before the con, so I went with “thanks for joining us!”

Where do these people want comics to go next? If they demand we show respect to the real people who have the same ideology as the most evil villains in comics, what are the plots even gonna be? Centrist comics where we can see Red Skull win his debate against the first year Xavier students?

I will keep comparing facists like Trump and Kirk to Nazis.

I know we all bought comics in the 90s that seemingly defy logic today, and you were definitely at the forefront of the movement.

Colors look great!

This is a big deal. Spread the word. But it’s tiny compared to the totality of what’s happening at NIH. Cure Research for all cancers, Alzheimer’s, everything is being gutted. Intentionally. It’s all getting burned to the ground but the news isn’t getting out. The new cures won’t be there for you.

Except when they make you late to a panel…

The first half of the first season took me a couple tries to get through, but I really recommend sticking with it. It gets so good!

The funny thing is that copies still sealed have likely been damaged by the polybag. If you opened it, you would discover a large vertical line down the middle of the back cover.

We saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it. It was heavy on the talking, but had some great character interactions. I do wish I had rewatched Incredible Hulk prior to seeing it.

I will immediately judge anyone who calls the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America now. Utter stupidity.
