People like me who are convinced by the science take on a much lower level of risk of doing something not needed for the existence of the earth as we know it. If I/we are wrong we gain cleaner air water and land and a thriving ecosystem. We improve the Earth. That’s a risk that’s worth taking.

What I don’t understand about man made climate change deniers is the level of risk they are prepared to take on. They risk the very existence of the Earth as we know it. There is no upside if they are wrong.

The world is on track for between 1.9 and 3.7Β°C of warming by 2100 While some progress has been made in limiting greenhouse gas emissions, we are still on the path for high levels of global warming

In 1971, the Jim Crow era was over, but oppression carried on. Jimmy Carter was sworn in as Governor of Georgia.

In his Inaugural address, he declared β€œthe time for racial discrimination is over”.

President Carter always had the spine to speak up, no matter the cost of the cause. Be like Carter.

If this year taught us anything, it's that:

1) Workers keep America going, not billionaires.
2) Corporate profits don't trickle down to workers.
3) Poverty is a policy choice.
4) Health care is a human right.
5) Strikes work.

I hope we act on these lessons in the new year.

In 2024, hundreds of thousands of children in London received free school meals.
Many of them would have otherwise gone hungry.
As we enter 2025, let's never forget that while it can be frustrating, politics done right can have a huge impact, offering much-needed hope to those who need it most.

So, for the most part, I think the whole honours system in this country is very weird, archaic and overly politicised, however, if there is one thing that a knighthood is appropriate for, it’s making sure that kids don’t go hungry.

Well done, @london.gov.uk.

All Americans owe DC US Attorney Matthew Graves and his staff a debt of gratitude for their work to prosecute the 1,600 defendants who attacked our Capitol on Jan 6, 2021. Political violence cannot be tolerated.

Just a reminder that James McMurdock MP & Reform UK never apologised for lying about the nature of his conviction.

They said he β€˜pushed her’, when he actually kicked the shit out of her on the floor.

And chief whip Lee Anderson is too weak to discipline him.

β€œThe government knows a fair bit about delivery drivers that are employed directly by supermarkets. Your Tesco or Waitrose delivery driver is an employee … But the food delivery industry (is) run almost exclusively by self-employed gig economy workers”

Here’s the answer. Proper jobs not gigs.

Combined capacity of Wind and Solar is now approaching that of gas in the US. Variable renewable capacity is now ~400 GW, while Gas is ~500 GW. Coal has dropped to ~150 GW and Nuclear is ~100GW. Solar and wind are about equal at ~150 GW, Hydro at ~75GW and biomass as geothermal are at trace amounts by comparison.

He didn't "get it wrong". He misinformed, deliberately. The narrative he pushed was the narrative he wanted to push, and the truth did not play any part on that narrative.

This is why Labour saying they will "win the argument" is doomed to failure.
